Kona: Day One could be a sleeper hit, as I haven't seen too much fanfare around it, but it looks seriously cool. Pre-orders are now open, and you get beta access on January 29th if you do.

I know I don't like pre-orders, but the developer gives some nice reasons to:
- You save 30% off the full price (nice!)
- You get beta access on January 29th
- You help a small studio as every single penny from the pre-order will go straight into making the game better
- When the game is released, players who placed their pre-orders will receive both a DRM free copy and a Steam key for use on Windows, Mac, or Linux.

It's only $7 too, so it's not exactly breaking the bank either! The full release is aimed at "Q1 2016", so sometime soon I guess.

You can pre-order it here. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I am really looking forward to this game but I don't think I can break my ban on preorders. To be fair the 30% discount means that the game will be $10 normally which also won't break the bank. I also doubt I will have time to provide them with feedback on the beta. That leaves helping the small developer out which I do every paycheck by purchasing Linux games that are released and available.

Nice try, still not pre-ordering. I may but it around launch, though, assuming it reviews well. Full launch, not early access. Honestly, I still don't know exactly what you do in the game. Is it a walking simulator? Are there puzzles? Does it have survival elements?

I did a google search, and i found more info about the game:
From driving to shooting to scene-searching, Kôna combines the atmosphere and immersion of a modern survival title with the deep storytelling and puzzle-solving aspects of a traditional adventure game. By blending and wrapping several gameplay mechanics around its scenario, the game aims to blur the lines that define today’s genres.

Cool. At least it sounds like it's more than just a walking simulator. Hopefully it turns out well.
