New Linux Gamer Survey For January

By -
As usual, here's our monthly survey asking you a few questions. No unique questions this time around, as I have nothing I wanted to really ask that hasn't been already for the moment.

Find the January GOL Survey here.

As usual, you fill it in from what you did in the previous month. So, this survey is January's survey, but you fill it in from your activity in December.

You can see December's results here. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Need to share: I got the Steam survey today, for second or third time on Linux over the last about 3 years. BTW, anybody got the feeling as well that it tends to popup on the first of a month?

"Did you buy a Steam Machine?"
I missed the choice "build my own".

About once a year seems about right for me too. And yes, I got one today. Coincidence? Maybe. Where's a good conspiracy theorist when you need one? :)

I've gotten steam surveys quite a lot more than once a year, maybe 5-6 times.
Remeber to close and start your steam client though, it only appears on startup.

I was thinking the same thing. I had to answer no

Also missing the option - did you log into Windows last month:

"Only to stream steam games to my Living Room Linux PC"

I use wine to run LackeyCCG. The previous month I ticked the I did use wine box because of this but this month I considered that it was more right to tick "no" because it is not a windows purchase for wine.

I've gotten the Steam survey more often when I'm distro hopping and when I install steam I usually get the survey. Although this only worked up until late November maybe early December, not sure why. But when January 1st hit I got the survey. so I'm not sure what's going on now.

Same. Though some unexpected expenses, vet bill and car repair bill, have pushed the date back quite a bit for when this can happen. I think I'll go ahead and wait to build it when Pascal and Zen are available which is roughly a year.
