Good news Rocket League fans, as it seems the game will be out on SteamOS & Linux before the Xbox One version, and it's looking like it will be end of January to early February.
I'm happy to say I was wrong about it, as initially I thought the Xbox One version delayed it, but then Valve made comments about it directly and it being them holding it up. Now we have a developer on reddit saying this:
QuoteMac version was delayed along with SteamOS release (not because of Xbox One, we have different teams helping with each version). It will still happen early this year and before Xbox One release in February, though we don't have an exact date yet.
They also tweeted this:
@BenjaminArd Mac is not 100% this year, but likely not.
Upcoming order: SteamOS -> Mac -> XB1

Stuff like this makes me happy, so let's hope there isn't another delay eh!
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
I so want this game! And I really want to like it. This could very well be the first multi-player time-waster I can get into in the last... fifteen years or so.

Rocket League was a big reason I was booting into Windows not long ago. It will be great to uninstall it from Windows and move it to Linux!
Had I had a PS4 earlier on, I would have purchased Rocket League on that system. It doesn't help out Linux a whole lot to do that, but it helps ween me off of Windows. That's what I plan to do with games that are not on Linux and aren't planning to go to Linux. My Windows 7 drive will only live for so long.

I had just heard about this game from Jim Sterling on his lest of best games of 2015. Was sad when I saw it was Windows only so this is great news.

Rocket Leage is a big HIT for the Linux Market, good news after the sad update about Rome II.
I'll hope the performance will be on pair with the Windows Version.

I think Valve is working to have all genre in SteamOS library.
Grid autosport: racing
Saints Row: gta like
Street fighter: fighting
...
except that Witcher 3 was announced on SteamOS and still no sign for the most expected rpg
SteamOS has a limited nb of AAA games but it's enough and more and more games are coming this year.

Bought Steam Controller (neato!)
Bought Rocket League (very neato!)
Can't play with 'em - just Linux here.
I call on tenretnI in all her pasta goodness to touch the all powerful ones that control resources for the Linux conversion of Rocket League. May all their wants and wishes be granted.
