SpeedRunners, a competitive action-platform runner which was originally going to be out for Linux before Christmas has been delayed. It now has no ETA.

The answer was short and simple:

QuoteYes, other things got priority. No ETA yet.

Shame, but this sort of thing happens rather often and we should be used to it by now. It's also in Early Access, so at least by the time we get it, it might be more polished too.

About the game (Official)
In a city filled with superheroes, getting to crimes becomes a competition on its own. Fortunately there are enough rockets, bombs, grappling hooks, spikes, and other goodies lying around -- to make the competition fun and fast. Welcome to SpeedRunners.

SpeedRunners is a 4 player competitive platformer with grappling hooks, power-ups, and interactive environments. Run, jump, swing around, fire rockets, grapple onto people to knock them off screen.

Thanks to Voltage for letting us know!

Pretty sure this is in my Steam library. I haven't tested whether it will run or not, but IIRC there is a playable beta branch for it.

Sorta, it's just the demo though.

I played that demo during a free weekend. It was pretty fun, even single-player. Sad to hear it isn't coming for a while. I recall the demo having some minor issues like with the menu and whatnot, but I've played many fully released games that were far worse.

That's the problem with Early Access / Multiplayer / Linux: I already got tired of looking at it on Twitch / Youtube before it even comes out. Same story with Rocket League. It's so last year, my excitement is already over because I've seen others play it for too long.

If I'm not the only one, we'll see worse Linux sales than it could have had if it wasn't an afterthought. So, if you want to be on Linux, do it right from the beginning. Or at least give us an alpha or beta like the Thea guys wisely decided to do.
Whether SteamOS really takes off or not, I feel we're way into the area where we can and should be picky.

I bought the game long time ago and played one weekend (Windows). Was good fun, fast and a bit chaotic! I might give it another go once is released again.

That's why I tend to not watch gameplays. It kinds of ruin the experience once you decide to play the game. It's true we should get games at the same time though, specially multiplayer ones to play when the servers are full of people.
