The second ever GamingOnLinux GOTY award is now over! Thank you to every one who voted, give yourselves a pat on the back.
Congratulations to all the winners, you deserve it as voted by our readers!
This was a much bigger turnout than last year in votes, and it all went over pretty smoothly I think!
Psst, please mind any issues with the charts above, they are brand new. The graphs are made possible using the awesome SVGGraph script, with a little of my own magic.

I'm glad to see that Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition was well worth the wait by delivering an incredible true linux native game that works really well.
Any chance for a benchmark video between the windows and linux versions? :D

Ah divinity!
Still I was disappointed that I could not chose 3 games per category, I felt a bit ruthless at times...
Congrats to the winners. If you did not make it does not mean your game was not appreciated, I actually enjoyed some great games here that I did not vote for.
EDIT - noticed that dwarf fortres did not make it...Oh well....Still, worthy win for 0AD.

Dwarf Fortress, while one of the most amazingly complex and fun games going, is very much an acquired taste with a steep learning curve that puts off a lot of people. I'm disappointed that it didn't get the recognition it deserves, but I'm not too surprised.
I am surprised that OpenXCOM didn't even get 10 votes in the FOSS category. The amount of work that's gone into that project this year is phenomenal. I suppose it has been a year and a half since the last stable release though, so maybe it's fallen off a lot of people's radars. When the next version lands with TFTD support, maybe it'll catch a few people's eyes.

i dont really see why Bioshock won story wise, seemed pretty generic for the most part ..but thats me i guess.. SOMA, hands down, had the best story i seen for a while in games :D

I agree that Dwarf Fortress is an acquired taste, if a proper skin came out for the game I am sure it would wipe the floor....
I was not aware of the OpenXCOM project, I will give it a go. I have played quite a lot of UFO Alien Invasion, but I suppose that that version is not as challenging as the original Xcom.

> Best … performance
> Pillars of Eternity 3rd place
I dunno… It's soooooo slow on location transitions (including houses).

Feral Interactive - no surprise here, Most promising Early Access as well. Best story however is surprise for me.

great job I thought, although the most anticipated for 2016 is not surprising. I'm looking forward to xcom2 and street fighter V myself :)

I must say I'm surprised about Cities: Skylines receiving that many votes. Apart from that it all looks fine although only one of my favourites won. :)

Random idea: What if there were a tasteful set badges or something that could be shared with Colossal Order and others? It would help these games and this site get recognition at the same time.

We had Sobkas working on a congrats image, but he's been busy with stuff and it wasn't final.
We may have some sort of badges or something next year.

Initial takeaway: Axiom Verge got robbed, and too many people use Wine.

Was Dwarf Fortress actually nominated for anything? I keep seeing it mentioned in posts about open source games, but Dwarf Fortress is proprietary.
Also in Most Anticipated, were all those games actually announced for Linux or is that just speculation and a lot of wishful thinking?
I am surprised D: OS got all the votes it did after the hate in the comments every time they delayed it :D

I think badges would be great to give to all the top spots in each category. And maybe a special GOTY page/section here in the website. It could have a list of the winners for every year, some pictures and such.

don't get me wrong. its a nice game, but imo apart from the amazing city, the story wasnt anything special to me, pretty much same as previous bioshock games in general. though i have only 5 hours into the game or something like that, but it didnt pull me in because of being nothing special.

I had real trouble voting on the best game porter category, I wanted to vote for all of them as they all did brilliantly in 2015.
