Looks like the 2013 game Tomb Raider is heading to SteamOS & Linux according to new information popping up on SteamDB.

I'm actually a big fan of the game, as I played it when it came out on PS3, but sadly I never got to finish it for various reasons. Being able to do so on my favourite system, that's bloody brilliant.

I wonder who's doing the port? Any guesses folks?

About this game (Official)
Tomb Raider explores the intense and gritty origin story of Lara Croft and her ascent from a young woman to a hardened survivor. Armed only with raw instincts and the ability to push beyond the limits of human endurance, Lara must fight to unravel the dark history of a forgotten island to escape its relentless hold. Download the Turning Point trailer to see the beginning of Lara’s epic adventure. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Huh, weird that they are porting this "old" 2013 game instead of the just released game. Unless, of course, they intend to port both games. I certainly hope that this is the beginning of lots of Square Enix ports for Linux.

I played and finished this game on my Windows Xp era...

But if it is relased for Linux, I will BUY IT AGAIN for my NEW STEAM ACCOUNT that i've created yesterday ONLY for LINUX GAMES... This is my humble contribution for the Linux cause.

I purchased Shadow of Mordor and I activated it on this new account and not in my other older account from the Windows xp era..
I'm gonna keep my older account only for Windows exclusive games..

Wow, this is starting to look better every day ;-)
Hope to see the new one coming too.
TR2013 was a fun game, even though it is not a classical TR and you could feel the console design (don worry: it plays fine with m+k) underneath, it nevertheless is one of the fonder memorys of that year. I highly encourage giving it a try once they bless us with a port. The atmosphere is simply amazing

I tried to play one Tomb Raider via wine - it was working perfectly, however the game itself was not in my taste. I will buy this one only to support Linux.

Yes!!!

I was waiting for a SteamOS/Linux version of this, even though I didn't feel like it was likely to come! (I'm quite patient.)

When I buy it, it will count as a Linux sale! :D

I already own this game, but I was plannin on playing this again some time :D I will be so happy to play it natively.
(It does work fine with WINE but I try to only use it for really old and classic games)

I'm really amazed to see this game coming to Linux, I never expected it to happen :O It's a very welcome surprise. The devs have my thanks both for making an epic game and for supporting the penguin OS!

Guys,

until this one comes out I suggest checking out Deadfall Adventures, which is already out for linux a long while ago, and is a good adventure FPS game, if you dont know it yet.

Quoting: MGOid- I'm playing Grid Autosport and really appreciate Feral position related to non Nvidia users: "officially we don't support, by you can play anyway". Hope they fix the split-screen thought. And supporting all gamepads, not only the 360 one.
Not a single issue with Dualshock 4 (wired, wireless) while playing Grid Autosport, so that's not support of "only 360 one".

Awesome news. Not only because we're getting a great AAA title, but also because that would mean Square Enix moving to support Linux (which if I am not totally mistaken they didn't do so far.) SE is an absolute quality publisher, and I'd love them supporting Linux with all their games.
