I sense my sceptical attitude towards Unity weaken for each of these reports.
Keep up the good work, Unity, and thanks for the support!

Intrigued as to why it requires root to be extracted :O

When they will fix their crap controller support? Other engines recognizes whatever controller you plug, but Unity works via a whitelist method, and even in this way there are issues, like the classic "turn your thumbsticks in circles to calibrate" before starting a game.

Just hangs on start-up with me, maxis 1 core out. Left it a while to see if it was building shaders or whatever but no, just hung I guess.

Just updated to the latest version and for me there are no problems starting the editor and creating a new sample project. The only thing I noticed was the installer had an error due to a missing package "libpq5". Otherwise I encountered no problems.
