Considering how terrible the Windows PC release of Batman: Arkham Knight was/is I’m not really surprised. Hopefully we will get some of the other better ones.
This is what a developer posted on Steam:

While I’m not surprised by the news, I am still saddened by it. The Windows PC release was truly terrible as has been detailed quite widely, and they still haven't managed to fully patch it up.
I guess we have to bug the publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment about it since publishers are usually the ones who have the actual say in what happens.
Sad news, but XCOM 2 on Friday, Dying Light Enhanced Edition & The Following DLC and Firewatch next week. All those games coming to Linux in the space of a week! Remember to check our Release Calendar to keep up with it all.
Try not to be too sad about it my little cherubs.

QuoteWe are very sorry to confirm that Batman: Arkham Knight will no longer be coming to Mac and Linux. If you have pre-ordered Batman: Arkham Knight for Mac or Linux, please apply for a refund via Steam.

Sad news. Did Feral give a statement already? I guess they were already working on the port and found unfixable issues.

Well, I was kinda hoped for Arkham series game on Linux, but ohh well....It's not like Arkham Knight was best representative of series. And with all huge issues with port for Windows this is not surprise at all.

And the announcement post has already been locked, damn.

This would have been a nice 'high-profile' addition to the roster -- but that's about all it would've been.
I'm a filthy double-booter; so I've played it on windows. I luckily didn't run into too many technical problems, but I was extremely frustrated by the fact that before the 'fix' the visuals were demonstrably worse than the console versions at supposedly highest settings -- blurry textures, ugly post-processing that you couldn't turn off, missing effects, etc. etc.
... and the game itself was an outright mediocrity; save for a couple of interesting ideas here and there. (Which ideas, tellingly, were adopted from Arkham Origins. Actually I'd be happier if AO gets a Linux port sometime down the line.)

Well, this is too bad. I wonder why it was cancelled? Was it because WB was concerned it wouldn't sell enough to be worth the trouble, or did Feral encounter insurmountable technical hurdles?
However, this news is mitigated by the Mad Max news, so WB apparently still has faith in the Linux/SteamOS platform.

Here's a thought, maybe they was worried that feral may do a good job thus make the window/team look bad and linux/steamos look good :D

I can live with that - never was a Batman fan.
Now, let's just hope the same doesn't happen with the promised Witcher 3...

Quoting: TheBossBetter they do 2 good ports for the price for one bad, hopefully they didn't invest too many man-hours on reviewing the code.Quoting: Xpandergreat! was shit for windows also at least according to media around it
Feral can now concentrate to other projects :)
My thoughts exactly, Feral will live on and their name won't get tarnished by working on an already terrible game.
