This is the first Square Enix published title to come to Linux, so I wonder how closely they will be watching up.
About the game
Hitman GO is a simple to play, but difficult to master turn-based strategy game set in a stunning interpretation of the Hitman universe. You will strategically navigate fixed spaces on a grid to avoid enemies and take out your target or infiltrate well-guarded locations. This award-winning, beautifully rendered diorama-style turn-based strategy game focuses on forward thinking to progress through challenging levels and stylish freeze frame environments, to challenge even the most accomplished Hitman fan.

In fairness, the label "turn-based strategy", while not completely inaccurate, can be a bit misleading. In my opinion, this game is a lot more akin to a puzzle game than what people traditionally consider to be tbs games.

There are quite of few of these already. Just look through the Linux catalogue on Steam...

Why do people bash a game because it's a genre they don't like? Not interested? DON'T BUY IT! Simple as that.

It's actually a pretty good game. Played the android version for sometime and now enjoying the Linux port! :-)

If you are by chance talking about me, I wasn't trying to bash it. It looks like a great game, and I'm glad it was ported. I just have the worst feeling that the new Hitman game will not be, which feels like a sick joke. I should note that I have been playing a lot of Dirt Showdown, which disappointed me greatly, as I have been wanting to play the Dirt games for some time, and all I get is this. Also, releasing a game in a well-known franchise that completely eschews the traditional elements of said franchise, reminds me of Metroid Prime: Federation Force. That game made me sick to my stomach. Not because it was a bad game, but because we never got a real Metroid game to justify it.

I was not singling out anyone in particular. It just seems like every time we get a game that isn't a main one, a vocal element of the community shows just how ingrateful they are. We have to start somewhere, and if it's board games that actually are very polished and fun yet retain major IP branding, so be it. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither shall be Linux gaming.

^^ The UI is fine if you use a gamepad. I don't game with a keyboard or mouse at all, so I can't speak to that.

Dying Light and Saints Row IV come to mind.

Nice little puzzle-game so far.
It is a low-effort mobile port - but it seems to be a port of a solid mobile game. I suspect the reason the linux version got released is that someone noticed it how easy it was to do this with this specific unity game.
