Thanks to SteamDB and a twitter follower it really does look more likely that Tomb Raider (the 2013 version) is coming to Linux.

launch/4/config/oslist: linux
launch/4/executable: TombRaider.sh
launch/4/type: none

Now it even has a launch script hmmm!

It's not confirmation of course and nothing has been announced by anyone yet.

About the game
Tomb Raider explores the intense and gritty origin story of Lara Croft and her ascent from a young woman to a hardened survivor. Armed only with raw instincts and the ability to push beyond the limits of human endurance, Lara must fight to unravel the dark history of a forgotten island to escape its relentless hold. Download the Turning Point trailer to see the beginning of Lara’s epic adventure. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Played the first (new) Tomb Raider before I made my final switch to Linux, but it's a solid game and probably worth a re-run. Really hope this means we might get the new TR as well.

I already downloaded the Windows version to do comparisons and blame AMD or Feral or both.
That said, those damn QTE are capable of ruining a very good game.

I read this reboot was really good. Solid metascore too.
Look forward to it!

... But what role do the mysterious twitter follower play in regards to this game coming to Linux? :)

Nothing other than pointing it out.

So, if this comes through, who do we thank (besides Feral, obviously): the developer (Crystal Dynamics) or the publisher (Square Enix)?

That is in fact a very interesting question.

Im getting this game ^^.
No doubt here.

It must be a Windows XP build of the game running via the wrapper method...
Anyway, I will buy it again for my new 100% Linux Steam account.

No joke! It took me so long to get past the damned river rapids! That and the sneaking could have been better-implemented.
Even so, this game is gorgeous. It's fun to just run around the terrific environment!

Nothing really, I was just spamming F5 on SteamDB waiting for this very thing, when it happened I thought Liam might want to know :)

I can remember getting her impaled many times, not a fan of QTE but it went mostly well for me.

While it seems likely that they are the ones doing the port, it is not confirmed yet. The presence of their branch means nothing with regards to Linux - they did the Mac port.

VP ported a game to Linux that Aspyr has ported to Mac, so there is precedent for splitting porters between Mac and Linux.

But I do hope it is Feral. I like giving them money.
