Thanks to SteamDB and a twitter follower it really does look more likely that Tomb Raider (the 2013 version) is coming to Linux.

QuoteChanged App Config
launch/4/config/oslist: linux
launch/4/executable: TombRaider.sh
launch/4/type: none

Now it even has a launch script hmmm!

It's not confirmation of course and nothing has been announced by anyone yet.

About the game
Tomb Raider explores the intense and gritty origin story of Lara Croft and her ascent from a young woman to a hardened survivor. Armed only with raw instincts and the ability to push beyond the limits of human endurance, Lara must fight to unravel the dark history of a forgotten island to escape its relentless hold. Download the Turning Point trailer to see the beginning of Lara’s epic adventure. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Great game but I won't go through the qte garbage again.

QTEs are fine, so long as the game isnt overly reliant on them. Prefer direct skill/reflex rather than just button mashing prompts.

Quoting: wleoncioSo, if this comes through, who do we thank (besides Feral, obviously): the developer (Crystal Dynamics) or the publisher (Square Enix)?

It looks like Squenix finally drank the Linux kool-aid. There's no turning back now.

Quoting: nllaI never quite understood the QTE hate, honestly. It's just a cinematic run up on our reflexes. I really think it's fine. But then again, I've been a gamepad player my whole life, so maybe it's more of a keyboard players issue.

I almost never play with gamepad, I play with keyboard and mouse. The problem with TR was, it didn't show the keys in the QTE. And it is no fun if you want to lean back, enjoy the cutscene and suddenly you have push a key and it doesn't even show you which one. So you have to go through the cutscenes several times, which is super annoying.

But why are they even there to begin with. There is no skill needed for them and I gain nothing. And if you play through it again you can't even skip the scenes because of them.

And no I won't use a gamepad because as soon as a game has a crosshair or free camera i am gonna play it with keyboard and mouse.

Other people might prefer a gamepad and that is fine with me, but there are a lot of people with kb + mouse and with those QTE is a pain imo.

Luckily they removed the QTE stuff from the cutscenes in the new game.

Let's thank all of them. (If the port arrives that is.)

I have fully moved over to Linux for gaming now that this game is on the way. I am like that cow with the news of this, truly over the moon.
