Dean Sekulic | Old Programmer, Croteam

Old programmer? I thought he was doing Engine & Tools for The Talos Principle. And he ain't that old :D... did Dean leave Croteam or is that yet another Croteam-Like joke and it's meant "Senior Programmer" :D.

I'm sure he will laugh about that :D.

Those three guys are for sure a good pick for a talk like this. Looking forward to it. Hoped for some words of Epic about this topic too.... but hey, they probably won't have time to let every engine developer talk about it :D.

It's Croteam being themselves, I'm sure he demanded GDC put that as his title :P

color me blind here, but what is Unity guy doing here talking about practical use?

as far as it was told not so long ago, they haven't even started it. Epic on the other hand is demoing working Vulkan in Unreal for S7

They are probably interested now that it is out and will work out of the box in future Android devices. They never said they weren't going to work with it, they just saw no point on doing porting work before the specification was even complete.

Unity did an Android Vulkan talk a few month back. It was a pretty good one despite the technical issues they obviously had with screening the android device :D. And my guess is a lot of game devs for mobile are looking into Vulkan as Google named it their future API (for "more performance for their games by the engine"). Actually, Unity were one of the first actively trying Vulkan. They didn't announce anything official (to my knowledge) yet, but they're certainly brewing something. Otherwhise they wouldn't have been able to show a live Vulkan a few month ago.
