I don't encourage anyone to pre-order anything. Also, I do wish they would say Windows and not PC, such an annoying term.

Oh boy, how I love that game.
However, that remastered version does not appeal to me.
IMHO it looks ugly compared to the original version.
Anyone knows if they use some kind of filter to "generate" the
new graphics (similar to what ScummVM supports) and
just manually "polished" it afterwards?

Incidentally, these are the the kinds of reasons why... Even when it comes to platforms they're looking for the next fix of money for something that doesn't exist or isn't finished yet, it's like their crack. I HIGHLY encourage everyone to ignore this suggestion, more so considering there's no date on it .

Ah, a blast from the days when Tim Schafer still made good games.
It is a damn good game, but the original (which I own) is still perfectly playable in SCUMMVM and quite honestly I think the old pixellated graphics hold up quite well. I'll pass.

Tim Schafer was on Kotaku's podcast and confirmed that the artwork was completely repainted. The remaster supports widescreen, which also adds more content to each scene. I'm looking forward to it.

I agree, the news sucks. I've been wanting to play this game for so many years now, but I'm going to wait until it officially supports GNU/Linux.

Bloody annoying, I am really looking forward to playing this again. Guess there's nothing to do but wait, the whole "buy the PC version now..." bit, was quite an unintentional slap in the face.
Well, at least I think you had the option of switching back and forth between classic & "modern" look, in the same style as the Monkey Island remakes. (2 more titles that *really* should be ported over)

We may be confident with Double Fine, all their latest games also have a Linux Port
