I've put quite a bit of time into GRID Autosport since it came to Linux, but I'm a much bigger fan of Rally titles like DiRT Rally. I'm sure I'm not the only one either, so this is fantastic news.
Thanks to SteamDB as usual:

No word on who is doing it, as this was completely out of the blue. Considering the game was only released at the end of last year, this is really amazing. We are getting an extremely up to date game.
This was Codemasters first game to go in Early Access too, and it really helped them polish the title. I was quite surprised to see such a big name use Early Access, but they did it well judging by reviews.
About the game
DiRT Rally is the most authentic and thrilling rally game ever made, road-tested over 80 million miles by the DiRT community. It perfectly captures that white knuckle feeling of racing on the edge as you hurtle along dangerous roads at breakneck speed, knowing that one crash could irreparably harm your stage time.
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Can you support this game to be released on linux with

OH HELL YES!!! FINALLY!!!
Been bugging the steam linux topic for Dirt Rally for ages now as THIS is what Linux gaming is missing - a truly great rally game!
I feel like I haven't been so hyped since the Steam Controller release. :D

Quoting: adolsonQuoting: RTherenSince the DiRT Showdown was ported by VP, my guess would be VP also here...Showdown uses an older engine, though. Rally uses the same engine as GRID Autosport. I think there's more of an argument for Feral to port based on engine, rather than franchise name. But maybe this is wishful thinking.
My bet would be on Feral too, they did a very good job with GRID Autosport imho. Whoever ends up porting it, I just hope they do a good job, really wanted to play this game since it came out.
A few more racing titles and SteamOS will start to look more like a proper alternative to consoles.

not mine, but this Dirt is not the same arcade stuff that you get in your regular Dirt Series
Dirt Rally is more into the area of Richard Burns Rally.

First GRID Autosport. now Dirt Rally, then Formula 1?
This is a fantastic must have for me. I love racing games. Thanks Feral, I suppose!

Great, DiRT and the previous Colin McRae were some of my favorite series and even more now that there is pure Rally and no stunts as in DiRT: Showdown :D
Just waiting for F1 now them all my favorite race categories will be on Linux, since I grew up playing Grand Prix and Colin McRae games I am very happy :) .

Fantastic game with excellent reviews. Bought it on release and already played a lot under Windows.
It is not the same as the earlier, arcade-style Dirt games but more of a successor to Richard Burns Rally (RBR) which was a really hard simulation.
It would be amazing if this is really coming to Linux.
