I've put quite a bit of time into GRID Autosport since it came to Linux, but I'm a much bigger fan of Rally titles like DiRT Rally. I'm sure I'm not the only one either, so this is fantastic news.
Thanks to SteamDB as usual:
QuoteChanged App Config
launch/1/config/oslist: linux
launch/1/executable: DirtRally.sh
launch/1/type: none
No word on who is doing it, as this was completely out of the blue. Considering the game was only released at the end of last year, this is really amazing. We are getting an extremely up to date game.
This was Codemasters first game to go in Early Access too, and it really helped them polish the title. I was quite surprised to see such a big name use Early Access, but they did it well judging by reviews.
About the game
DiRT Rally is the most authentic and thrilling rally game ever made, road-tested over 80 million miles by the DiRT community. It perfectly captures that white knuckle feeling of racing on the edge as you hurtle along dangerous roads at breakneck speed, knowing that one crash could irreparably harm your stage time.
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
I noticed that porters use similar pattern for executable names in SteamDB.
These are from VP:
These are from Feral:
And this is from Dirt Rally:
I guess it's obvious.

Update 2:
Aspyr uses its own pattern:

Quoting: GuestHaha, well, I was hoping for a fun racing game but now I know this won’t be it. Probably just another incredibly hard and unfun simulation like Grid Autosport.
It all comes down to taste, of course, but I think DR is one of the funnest racing games I've played in a good long while.
Yeah, there's a learning curve to it, and yeah, you're gonna wreck the hell out of your car and lose some races starting out, but once you get the feel for it, it makes you feel like a tire shredding MO-CHINE!

Been watching my friend play this since release with steam broadcast. Would be a dream come true to see this on Linux.

Quoting: PZiggyDefinitely an amazing game. A few more like these and I'll have no reason to dual boot.I gave up dual booting months ago. It has gotten to the point that I don't mind missing out on Windows exclusives because there are so many other games available to me.

This time period of Linux is like watching the fall of Berlin Wall, or waking up September 11th, 2001, or the fall of the Roman empire.
It seems that Push is coming to Shove and this whole Microsoft Store lock-jaw tactic may yet prove futile as SteamOS/Linux is becoming a mature platform.
Can't wait to get this :) Very exciting time to live and watch Linux.

GRID is great, but this title would be awsome. I prefer rally titles over "normal" racing games. Sad my wheel turned out to be broken... if this comes to Linux I'll have to get myself a new one.

AFAIK, it's much more simulation, so much harder, so probably much too hard for people like me.
