GOL Asks: What have you been playing recently?

By -
It's been another few months since I asked this question, so let's see what you have all been up to recently! There's so many games on Linux now we are spoilt for choice.

Myself, I have been playing a fair bit of the strategy game/collectible card game Faeria which I have fallen a little in love with.

We also had a bit of a multiplayer game on Sid Meier's Civilization V with myself, Samsai, BTRE and a fellow named Gnarface from IRC. I have to say, that game has given me a renewed interest in Civilization V, and I hope Aspyr are able to fix the game up soon for newer Nvidia drivers as it became an issue for me. I ended up having to use my Steam Machine with the older more stable drivers.

Since White March II came out, I've only been playing Pillars of Eternity. Awesome game!

Oh, and some split screen Grid Autosport with my nieces when they were visiting.

I've been playing through Wasteland 2. I got it because I like the genre, but held off on installing it for a long time afterward because the post-apocalyptic setting wasn't interesting to me. A couple months ago I finally did install it, and recognized pretty quickly what a mistake I had made in waiting. The RPG elements make the game so much more than the standard turn-based tactics games I've normally played.

Almost entirely Factorio, although Faeria might steal away my gaming hours to come.

Mainly Star Ruler 2, Star Drive 2, a little bit X3, and Civ V.
Oh - and Factorio of course :)

Games i have played recently: Stories of Bethem: Full Moon Edition, The Bug Butcher, Ultratron, Retro City Rampage DX, 9 Clues 2: The Ward.

All good games except 9 Clues 2 which was pretty bad. There are so many new good games for Linux that it's becoming harder to choose what to buy and play. Spoiled for choice, but that's a good thing!

for now it will mainly be Faeria but Civ 5 is always fun, I've played every Civ game since the original on msdos. so it's literally second nature for me to play Civ, lol.
I'm mainly waiting on Starbound and Planet Explorers to get close to completion. Starbound should be reaching the 1.0 version with a month or two. and a lot of people will be surprised at the amount of content going into the 1.0 release. I read their main website for all the dev updates and it's mind boggling at the amount of new stuff and the really cool content that has stemmed from mods that were originally made for Starbound but now have been refined and added by the dev team to the main game.

Punch Club was an interesting break, it being such a casual sort of game was quite relaxing for a change.

I really wished Ino-Co Plus would fix Warlock 2 for linux. as it stands I have purchased the main game and the latest expansion and I've yet to be able to play a full game because of a bug with the dynamic mission system the game has. it's completely random also. because some of the time the missions register and clear fine but then at random times it will not clear the mission and corrupt the save along with an error that causes the game to crash instantly. so basically each game is like a demo for a random 5 to 10 hour period.

Back on Shadow Warrior. I never played it much and I'm currently working through my backlogged games from last year. Shadow warrior is just, dam good.
