Interstellar Marines was a seriously promising FPS game that would have single player, co-op play and online versus multiplayer. Sadly, they have had to let staff go and rely on interns right now as they seek more funding. Those interns are only with them for a few months too, so the outlook is not good right now.

And an earlier post here with a video explaining how their coders had been let go.

It has been ~3 months since their last new update, and the update currently dated for the end of this month will only have one major new feature: skins to unlock.

Unlocks are a nice feature that push gamers to play more, but it's far too little, too late.

Sad times, but my opinion on it is that they lacked any clear direction. For a game that many were excited about for the singleplayer and co-operative play, they focused too heavily on online versus multiplayer. Not just that, but their "Hell Week" multiplayer forced you to wait on timers to get into a game, and that is a bad move for an already small community.

I've removed it from our Steam Curator page, as I have serious doubts it will ever be in a decent state.

I wish them the best, but I think they need a clearer vision. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Same feeling and I do not have enough time to spent online with other players.
Multiplayer is always a good thing but we such a nice environnement for their titles they shoudl consider a campaign especially with coop mode. Otherwise it is not much different from any Unreal Tournament.
Maybe they do not have a coder to properly develop an AI for the solo/coop mode.

They are struggling to get this game done, and I really hope that It can reach its final version.

I tried this game out with a friend a little over a year ago during a "free weekend." At first we were impressed by the quality, but that quickly wore off with the unremarkable and repetitious settings and missions.

Most disappointingly of all, there seemed to be nothing "Interstellar" about any of it. No aliens, no purple flora nor phosphorescent fauna, no gigantic ringed planets hanging pendulously in the night sky. No green women. Nothing but a hole where all the imagination should have been.

It's disappointing when something as promising as Interstellar Marines fails to grow and thrive. I hope the devs can turn it around, but at this point I would feel a guilty relief if they just pulled the plug and let it die.

If I had the money I would just start gifting copies of it to people, that's how much I would like to help them get additional funding and get this finished but sadly I am not in a financial state where I can do that. Best of luck to the developer.

Unfortunately I saw this coming a MILE away, I have the game, got it early on and they deviated from making it a story campaign coop into a multi-player arena shooter, fatal mistake!

Really wish I could get my money back!

I really like the gameplay, but the lack of a single-player or co-op campaign disappoints me.

What a shame. I bought this game and it looked like it had lots of potential.
I still have two copies left to gift :(

Gift those copies to folks you feel will play and add to the multiplayer count. Maybe they'll even bring friends into the project > more money to the team.

Are you giving them away to strangers? If so, I'm interested in one of your copies. :P
