Sad news, as Deep Silver originally confirmed to me Homefront: The Revolution was going to be a day-1 release, now they are not saying when.
They did confirm it's still in development:
@BabaOreum @gamingonlinux Hey, Mac and Linux versions are in development - https://t.co/YkrgNjb7n4
— Deep Silver UK (@DeepSilverUK) March 3, 2016
We'll keep you posted with the latest.
Sadly they didn't answer the question directly:
@gamingonlinux @BabaOreum We'll keep the channel updated with release dates for Mac & Linux

It might still come out at release, but their language "in development" and Steam only having a Windows icon to me says it will be a delayed release. A real shame, as it was one of the titles I have been looking forward to the most.
Same day releases are really important to Linux & SteamOS. It's still great it's coming.
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
"A real shame, as it was one of the titles I have been looking forward to the most."
Surely a delay alone is no reason to sound so despondent. If it were cancelled, or the delay turned out to be huge... then, sure. Cheer up, you probably have butt-tonnes of other things to play while you wait.

I look forward to its Linux release.
Any news on Rocket League, was it not meant to be released before the Xbox One version?

@kit89 I have some news - once again Linux users were treated in a very unfair way (In comparison to console gamers, but according to Rocket League developers - because of Valve.

Hopefully it's still day 1, if not then not too long after that. On the bright side, there's a pretty good chance that it will use Vulkan.

Haven't been around long have we? Delays often see more delays, and then more delays.

I think they are trying to avoid all the fuss around the Metro Redux pre-orders, as the Steam pre-order displayed a Tux icon despite developers clearly stating the Linux version would arrive later on.
Many users complained that the game was not released day one because of this, and perhaps they want to avoid this kind of reactions in case the port isn't ready.
Yet if it is in development, there are some chances that it will be ready around May 20th. But the "release dates for Linux" does really sound wrong to me.

Still getting yourself down over a thing that has not happened yet.

I'd rather have a better port than a rushed day one port.
But I'd also rather have a day one port.
Until we start getting simultaneous releases on a regular basis, the Linux numbers will always be lower than they could be, as people buy to play in Wine or dual boot, or just give up on the game entirely.

If they don't get it out day one, I'll forgive 'em. Deep Silver has more than enough Linux Good Karma points to balance it out.

A game this big not releasing on Linux will reinforce the second class citizen stereotype. So, I'm with the Boss - it's a real shame to see hype generated by news of support, only to see it pulled a couple of weeks later.
At least it's not due until May, so this isn't exactly springing a surprise out of the blue. Still, hugely disappointing, especially for a game which is meant to be "online". If the Linux delay is long enough, we'll have missed the initial buzz and face lots of jaded & high-level types on entry.
