Sad news, as Deep Silver originally confirmed to me Homefront: The Revolution was going to be a day-1 release, now they are not saying when.
They did confirm it's still in development:
@BabaOreum @gamingonlinux Hey, Mac and Linux versions are in development - https://t.co/YkrgNjb7n4
— Deep Silver UK (@DeepSilverUK) March 3, 2016
We'll keep you posted with the latest.
Sadly they didn't answer the question directly:
@gamingonlinux @BabaOreum We'll keep the channel updated with release dates for Mac & Linux
— Deep Silver UK (@DeepSilverUK) March 3, 2016
It might still come out at release, but their language "in development" and Steam only having a Windows icon to me says it will be a delayed release. A real shame, as it was one of the titles I have been looking forward to the most.
Same day releases are really important to Linux & SteamOS. It's still great it's coming.
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Quoting: PicoboomIf they don't get it out day one, I'll forgive 'em. Deep Silver has more than enough Linux Good Karma points to balance it out.I'd call it Loyalty Points. Linux Loyalty Points, LLP.
Sounds like an RPG stat and the moment it's maxed out you get a free pet penguin.

Quoting: GuestDeep Silver...enough said. Their support of Dead Island was pretty poor, but still mostly playable for me.
Any games coming from them or Techland I am extremely cautious of. The possible always online DRM rumors around Homefront make me even more cautious.
We'll just have to wait and see.
Still the METRO ports are very good! :) I'd love to see a day 1 port - still I do prefer a better port then a rushed one as well! +1 for that!

ok guys back to reality plz. We didnt lose anything. And we have couple of peoples who uses Linux. We are not even 2nd target customers. And if you really do something then stop blaming companies and start coding somethings for common good. Ofc we want games under our Fav OS without restrictions and so on. But come back to reality.
if there is no linux ports we dont have to pay it. thats the deal for them.
now relax let them do their job. Also think "what i can do for progression gaming on linux"
have fun.

Can't say much, not too much information so far, it still coming on Linux that's the good news, but if it not a day one release this is still a disappointment, but it depends on how long ? Keep in mind it's just single player, so I can wait.

Actually the game is single player with co-op online possible. It's mainly a singleplayer game.

I would say yes, because there's no indication of a multiplayer tag so far.
