I'm glad this one turned out to be true (I covered it before here), as Tempest really does look like a fun pirate combat game. They just had a big open world update too!

The developer confirmed it is coming "Soon" on their official Steam forum.

Will you be picking up a copy? I think it looks like it could be really fun.

About the game
Hey Captain! Now that you've got the Jolly Roger fluttering in the wind over your ship, you’re ready to rove the seas, take on merchant ships loaded with booty and storm formidable fortresses. Set sail and get your hands on all those legendary treasures that are just waiting for the picking!

Your ship – the pride and joy of any freebooter – can be customized in many ways. You are free to change almost everything – from the color of your flag and sails to the ship’s hull and figurehead.

Set sail! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Yessss! I am a big fan of Akella marinistic games (like Sea Dogs or Caribbean Tales) - sadly, they don't work very well with Wine. I am very curious if this game gonna be any like them!

I do love pirate games. For the video it doesn't look like you can board enemy ships (yet?), which is a bummer, but I'm definitely interested. As with any early access game, I'm staying away until it fully releases. I'll reevaluate it at that time.

I love the look of the game, but "pirate ship deathmatch" just doesn't appeal to me. Is there more to the game, or is that pretty much it? I guess what I really want is an updated version of Sid Meier's Pirates!, or even a port of the one that came out in 2005, because that was pretty great. I should see if I can get that to run in Wine.

Sweet! I've been following this game for a while, as Linux support was hinted in the past. This is very welcome news indeed.
