The time of waiting is nearly over, or so they say. A member of the Rocket League team mentioned on the Steam forum it will be due very soon at the end of Q1 2016.
QuoteWell like I mentioned above it should be coming by the end of Q1 so we should be seeing the SteamOS and OSX versions coming out very soon :)

Correction: The developer meant to say Q2.
QuoteSorry, I misspoke -- we're targeting Q2. Apologies for the mistake

I do hope they wait is really worth it. I've been wanting to play it a lot, and the online multiplayer is still very healthy right now so it would be a great game to have on Linux.
It was originally due before the end of 2015, then Valve caused a delay, so we have been waiting quite some time.
About the game
Soccer meets driving once again in the long-awaited, physics-based multiplayer-focused sequel to Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars! Choose a variety of high-flying vehicles equipped with huge rocket boosters to score amazing aerial goals and pull-off incredible game-changing saves!
Are you still excited? My excitement has worn off a bit after so much waiting, but I imagine when it drops I will be very happy.
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Better late than never. Still, it's quite embarrassing that this was supposed to be a launch title for the Steam Machines. Most of us are used to Valve Time by now, but it doesn't look good to people on the fence about getting a Steam Machine when games keep getting delayed.

I've been playing this a bit here and there with friends and it's quite fun. The way the camera system works though makes it very hard for me to score in this game.
I am very interested how this will be running on steamos, I'll defiantly be interesting in joining a few rounds.

I know GDC is going to take place in one 4-8 days from today, but I don't expect anything more than what we had last year - few big titles announced and a year of waiting for them with some titles just being cancelled during that year. Sad, but realistic.

This has been the 3rd time we read the "It will be released soon" phrase since 2015.

Quoting: GuestThe problem this year is that VR [at GDC] is going to drown everything else out while not paying attention to much else. :-/
Pass. $800 for a headset that requires performance from CPU's and GPU's that barely exist yet.
Maybe developers are excited, but as a gamer I'm not sure I'll ever be excited by VR.
As for RocketLeague, feeling a lot of excitement and disappointment. This title has been a rodeo.
