The time of waiting is nearly over, or so they say. A member of the Rocket League team mentioned on the Steam forum it will be due very soon at the end of Q1 2016.

QuoteWell like I mentioned above it should be coming by the end of Q1 so we should be seeing the SteamOS and OSX versions coming out very soon :)

Correction: The developer meant to say Q2.
QuoteSorry, I misspoke -- we're targeting Q2. Apologies for the mistake

I do hope they wait is really worth it. I've been wanting to play it a lot, and the online multiplayer is still very healthy right now so it would be a great game to have on Linux.

It was originally due before the end of 2015, then Valve caused a delay, so we have been waiting quite some time.

About the game
Soccer meets driving once again in the long-awaited, physics-based multiplayer-focused sequel to Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars! Choose a variety of high-flying vehicles equipped with huge rocket boosters to score amazing aerial goals and pull-off incredible game-changing saves!

Are you still excited? My excitement has worn off a bit after so much waiting, but I imagine when it drops I will be very happy. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Quoting: KeyrockI've been hearing "soon" for half a year now. Soon doesn't mean anything to me any more. Talk to me when it is actually released.

Wait, so he meant to tweet "by the end of Q2"? In other words, June?
minj Mar 11, 2016
No, he probably meant Q3... 2017

1st rule rule: never buy the game if it's not available for linux
2nd rule: you don not talk about the Rocket League release date
3rd rule:you do not talk about Fight Club

Wow. Unbelievable. By the time this is out, nobody will even care anymore. And they've embarrassed Valve by saying it would be ready for the Steam Machine launch.

Valve caused some (if not most) of the delays. This was mentioned in the article. Be fair and don't put all of the blame on Psyonix.

@The Boss, any chance you could you use your magnificent information gathering skills to find out if this is still coming?

PS agree - this has a good chance of being "the thing of yesteryear" when it finally does get ported

PPS - if it ever does come out should we have a GoL league?
