For those not keeping track: SteamOS was recently updated to include the changes from the recent 2.64 beta and it brings Vulkan for Nvidia amongst other changes.
The only game actually using Vulkan on Linux/SteamOS right now is The Talos Principle from Croteam, but the beta doesn't currently work on SteamOS directly.
It also updates DualShock 3 controller support, support for a third party Xbox One controller and the usual security fixes.

it's time for valve to push developement department and make some changes in marketing decisions.
Today, after years, I bought a winz game: the division!!!! so I'm forced to install the virusOS... but only for my 40 gameplay hours

Quoting: leillo1975DualShock 3 bluetooth! It's greatSeriously?? I knew that DualShock 3 (PS3 controllers) worked great on SteamOS just plugged in with a USB cable (I use them along with my Steam controller for multiplayer), but I thought a GOL article said that the bluetooth connectivity would never work for Dualshock 3; only Dualshock 4's bluetooth was expected to be gotten to work.
I'd love to test it myself, but I'm away from home away from my SteamOS machine. :(
While we're on the subject, I do not hear the feature of SteamOS being able to use almost all modern controllers out of the box advertised nearly enough! Even GOL hardly ever mentions this feature! A lot of people don't know about the feature too! Steam machines are the ONLY CONSOLE that can use ANY CONTROLLER! That's a big freakin' deal! Why is nobody talking about it??

Quoting: InverseTelecineThey patched bluez to have the feature. See this : https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamOS/issues/479Quoting: leillo1975DualShock 3 bluetooth! It's greatSeriously?? Apparently that make the pairing process exactly the same as it is with a PS3, which is great.

Speaking about Nvidia Vulkan drivers, I saw that Windows have a main beta branch with Vulkan support, Will be good if Linux receives something similar soon, as well as a fix on the performance regression of 361.28 driver.

Quoting: NyamiouYes as that patch does, DualShock 3 controllers work well via BlueZ. Unfortunately, DualShock 4 controllers (on my system at least) still need to plugged in in order to function properly. This is something I'm working on for the next patch seeing as this one just works.Quoting: InverseTelecineThey patched bluez to have the feature.
