Syndrome is a brand new survival horror game coming out sometime this summer from Camel 101, and the trailer certainly makes it look good.

From the press release:
QuoteSyndrome returns to the roots of survival horror with woefully limited supplies, scarce ammunition, and relentless monstrosities that kill without mercy. Stranded on the dying ship, your only chance of escape is to uncover the truth, if you can live that long.

The creatures hunting you are stronger, faster, and utterly deadly. Watch their movements from the shadows, hiding in breathless anticipation for the right moment to strike or sneak away. Every encounter is an internal battle between fight or flight, your dwindling resources a tenuous lifeline to survival.

Syndrome is coming this summer to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Win/Mac/Linux) with Oculus Rift support at launch.

Their first game Mechs & Mercs: Black Talons was pretty bad, so I hope their new game does better. It certainly looks the part in the graphics department, but I hope the actual gameplay is up to scratch this time. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

animations could use some work. Seems like some 1998 game animations
but graphics look good indeed

Looks like they're going for a System Shock feel. Best of luck to them, I hope they can get it right.

Isn't this Alien Isolation footage?

My thoughts exactly... no immersion when it feels like an arcade shooter from '98 just with scarse ammo.

Someone should just make Amnesia 2 (piggy machine does not count!!!) with good custom story support and call it a day... it'd make a huge buck for the devs and a game for years of gaming. I still go back to the original Amnesia as the custom stories just keep on rolling out. :P

The aesthetic, even whole pieces of the design definitely look like they've been lifted from Alien Isolation, the plot description is almost identical although as others have commented the actual gameplay is closer to System Shock.

Altogether it just doesn't seem at all original, and if you are going to copy other games, why chose two of the most highly respected ones? It's a losing strategy, anything which invites comparison with those games will always come off worse.

Hopefully they have a DRM free version planned. I created a request for Syndrome on GOG if anyone wants to help lend support.
