Note: Feral incorrectly listed an AMD 5770 as the minimum, it's actually a 2GB AMD R7 260X (Driver version MESA 11.2) needed as a minimum AMD GPU.

Feral Interactive have started the week by increasing the hype for the Linux release of Tomb Raider. They have now released the system requirements!

Their wording at the bottom of this news post has me excited, as they state:
QuoteTomb Raider for Linux will be out very soon and will be available from Steam and the Feral Store.

Very much looking forward to completing this one on Linux. It's likely I will livestream it on the release day.

As for the specifications needed:

Minimum
OS Ubuntu 14.04 or SteamOS 2.0 (64-bit)
Processor Intel i3 or AMD FX-6300
RAM 4GB
Graphics card 1GB
NVIDIA GeForce 640 (driver version 364.12) or 2GB AMD R7 260X (Driver version MESA 11.2)

Recommended
OS Ubuntu 14.04 or SteamOS 2.0 (64-bit)
Processor Intel i5
RAM 8GB
Graphics card 3GB

Also, Mesa 11.2 is OpenGL4.1 in the radeonsi driver. That 5770 is still at OpenGL3.3 in Mesa 11.2. This game in Windows is DX11, witch means OpenGL4.3. Let's see what happens when you put the settings all way up.

But looks like Feral (or the game already has) implemented a OpenGL3.3 (DX9) fallback in case of unsupported OpenGL4.3 (DX11) hardware/drivers.

I wish it was the newer rise of the tomb raider... since I already own and have beaten this tomb raider. Still I'm glad to see support and will definitely have to give it another play.

On Windows you could basically run this game on a potato, so I'm quite curious to see how optimized it is for Linux. I'm actually playing it again with a Steam Controller these days and to be honest - three years later the graphics are not that impressive. It's ok, but I guess playing it back to back with the Witcher III is just doing it a disservice :).

0.1 secs I was like "WHOOAAAH", and the I was like "Nice, Nice!"

Maybe use the Feral Logo instead and the word announce, not release.

Yay, I've made the cut! Hopefully it will run smoother than Shadow of Mordor, which usually runs between 30 and 60 fps but can dip to 15 on my less-than-min spec machine.

Reminder: minimum means minimum tested, Feral can't be expected to keep extremely old (in hardware cycle terms) around to test.

Maybe read the whole title instead of some words here and there? :D It's not that confusing, honestly.

Just in time for my bday the 23rd, it seems!

An obvious purchase.

Driver version 364.12, does this also mean that the driver will hit into stable version when it's released? ;)

Only problem is I already got it. Maybe I should gift it to someone to support Feral.
Since I'm short in money I could spent for games atm I wouldn't mind a gift. I could make sure it's only played in Linux! ;)

I could offer some Indie (Humble Bundle) Games in exchange if you u like. :)

great to see people that switched recently, rebuying it to show support. Only Linux gamers do that :D :)

Really the minimum requirements are quite accessible, I will buy the day of release for Linux and play with the girlfriend :)

If I buy this through Steam does Feral get a smaller cut than if I would have bought it from the Feral store? And if so, does anyone know how much of a difference?

Quoting: MGOidThis game in Windows is DX11

This game works fine with DX9, that's how we've been able to play it with WINE.

It must be a joke, 364.12 is in BETA.

Valve might take 30%, so for sure there's left less for Feral if you buy on Steam.

this and i would assume that Feral has the exclusive rights for the Mac and Linux Version for there own store. But in the Steam Version they might have to give some % to Square and Valve like you mentioned. Better buy the game directly at feral( or aspyres store(for other games))
