Kerbal Space Program 1.1 is a pretty big update, and the name "Turbo Charged" seems quite fitting for such an update.

They have updated the game to Unity 5, this should bring some nice performance improvements.

They have also given it a new user interface, a new "KSPedia" to look up information and new tutorials and scenarios.

I've tried getting into it, but honestly it goes right over my head. I will definately be looking at it again now it has been spruced up a bit. The new tutorials especially have me interested.

See the release post here.

Be honest, how many hours have you lost to this game?

About the game (From Steam)
In KSP you must build a space-worthy craft, capable of flying its crew out into space without killing them. At your disposal is a collection of parts, which must be assembled to create a functional ship. Each part has its own function and will affect the way a ship flies (or doesn't). So strap yourself in, and get ready to try some Rocket Science!

Well, to be honest, I haven't lost a single hour on this game : I've spent one hundred hours and it was totally worth it !

83 hours of orbital mechanics and lucky guesstimates.

0 hours so far, but I hear it's easy to blow 100 or even 1000 hours with the depth and immersion of the game. I would be that guy that keeps modding my save to avoid blowing up my hard work in orbit ha :)

There have been a few graphical issues reported with the change to 1.1. Most of the work arounds are on bug #7493. I've had to launch the game with the launch option -force-glcore added in steam to get the missing user interface components to appear, other fixes seem to involve changing the games resolution within it's config files.

Hope this helps anyone else struggling with the new release.

@ DanielRowell Had to make an account just to say thank you for this fix. Just bought the game and was disappointed it didn't run but your work around solved the problem.

Well then, that also seems to fix other games with missing UI elements like Soul Axiom and Slime Rancher. Thanks a bunch.

300-something hours so far, and looking forward to many more. Best game evar! ;-)
This is one of the few games that gives an immense feeling of accomplishment when you finally pull off something difficult, like a Duna return mission of visiting Jool's moons. And if you let it, it can teach you a lot about astrodynamics - you can even calculate your mission on paper beforehand and only take the required fuel with you, no more. Not many games let you get that nerdy.

85 hours, only in sandbox mode.
its an example of early access done right and besides that its a pretty unique game

That game teaches one that rocket science is in fact, complicated. :D

But really, I love it.

More than 1000 hours (probably a lot more, I stopped counting when starting to use out-of-steam installs). I love the game (obviously), but the technical and usability deficiencies are a huge shame. I was also disappointed by this 1.1 update (it's stuttering and crashing more than ever).

Still, it's definitely worth a second try (unless you fear for your sleep). I suggest going for career mode, instead of sandbox: parts will become available more gradually, and you'll have time to get to know and appreciate them (just be careful and do NOT unlock planes stuff, as this won't help you go to space and gain more science).
