I love my space sci-fi games, and P·O·L·L·E·N looks incredible. I spoke to the developer, who said if there's a demand for it, they will seriously consider a Linux version.

And it's nice to see someone from the development team actually communicating with their consumer base. :)

It sure would be nice to see a Linux port of the game. I really, REALLY loved SOMA and Alien:Isolation on Linux, and P.O.L.L.E.N seems to be of the same genre. I would buy in heartbeat.

I hate weasel statements like this. It ranks up there with developers who say that they will consider a Linux version if the Windows version sells well. It's really just another way of saying that they have no interest in making a Linux version. That and the fact that they're targeting DX11 pretty much rules out a Linux version, so at the moment, I have zero interest in this game.
I hope the developers reply here on GOL and their even more positive recent Steam forum posts helps you change your tune.

It's pretty harsh and disrespectful to say what you did when you know nothing about their code. Not all developers are total pros and can just switch up their workflow to Linux builds right away. People need to be a little more understanding.

Really glad it's under serious consideration now, looks so awesome.

Can't speak for them. Depends on things like the amount of custom shaders they've written and their familiarity with GLSL I guess.

So never then. It's a game you need to pay for because people took a lot of time to create it. It's also not second rate rubbish like the Humble Bumble. Loki tried and failed. Forget it.
