Virtual Programming have released their latest Linux ports, and today we are graced with the crazy Saints Row 2 & Saints Row: The Third. They are also now on sale.
I am looking forward to seeing how they run, but as we get no keys or advanced access from Virtual Programming you guys will have to wait a bit before I can do a more in depth post on them both. I have requested keys from VP, so hopefully they will be able to provide me with some.
Update: Purchased them myself as there's now a sale on.
Their work has been impressing me lately, so hopefully it will continue the trend of great ports. Hopefully they ironed out some of the stutter from their previous Saints Row ports.
Both open world games, full of over the top action and general craziness.

i've tested out both since I already had them in my library, both installed and ran fine. SR3 had spikes of fps lag that was slightly noticeable from time to time. I did a challenge in SR3 and after it was done I kept falling through the world in an endless cycle.
but i figured out a work around, which is to continually jump when it resets your character when you hit the bottom. I never experienced this when I originally played. so i'm not sure if it's a Linux specific game bug.
overall though it seems playable. keep in mind SR2 was a port from the xbox to PC, so the controls for the keyboard and mouse are a little odd. but both games worked fine with the steam controller.
Genkibowl VII in SR3 doesn't look like it is released yet for Linux. I loaded SR3 with my old windows save where i've completed everything. I have all the DLC purchased but it doesn't show as installed in the steam DLC interface. not sure why it's not available yet, but I'm sure it will be soon. I don't see why it wouldn't be.

Tested Saints Row 3 using the radeonsi open source driver on an AMD Radeon 7850 graphics card: resolution was automatically set at 1028x720 with medium detail. The game is playable in the first level, then, when you are on the streets it suffers the same low FPS problems as seen in Saints Row 4 (goes below 20 fps).
