Shallow Space was already a pretty cool space strategy game, but it's going through a bit of an overhaul at the moment to greatly expand it.

See this new video showing how the overhaul is going:

You can buy it now for a taster of what's to come. They still have quite a bit of work ahead of them until the overhaul is released by the sounds of it.

You can see a lengthy Steam post here on what's going on with the overhaul. The developer is essentially making they game they want to play, rather than trying to go down the route of what's "popular":
QuoteAfter I figured out that suspended not a meter above my head was a highly polished glass ceiling, I did feel a little dejected. No matter what quality of assets or game we produce, we’ll likely never get major coverage. I was pretty gutted at first until I rationalised it all and spun it into a positive and realised that actually, it’s a good thing.

That was an important day actually because that’s when I stopped trying to pander to the latest popular review/preview category and development of Shallow Space as a wannabe-famous game ceased.

One of the most honest posts I've ever seen from a developer—lovely stuff. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.
