Hold onto your pants, as you're in for a wild ride! Tomb Raider is officially launching on Linux & SteamOS today.

A big fan of the game myself, but more on that from us later at the release.

You can visit the Feral mini-site for more information right now.

I will hopefully be livestreaming it later this evening. Likely around 8-9PM UTC, so keep an eye out penguin gamers.

Quoting: pete910That's handy, A 1tb evo ssd has turned up today too :D
I bought the 500 GB two weeks ago.

Almost 1 year ago in my case - and it's sitting at 48.2GiB left. And that's only Steam games, root and home are on separate SSDs. :(

What gets my goat is the fact they recon 931.5 GB (un partitioned) is apparently 1 TB :><:

Seems to be the norm and know ones pissed about it.....

Quoting: EikeI'm packaging two programs for Debian, so I'm one of these "loons". (I looked it up and I'm still unsure how harsh the expression is... :o) ) Last time I looked, Ubuntu never cared to pull in a new version until I did for Debian, so Debian always had the newest version of my packages. I guess this is not true for some central packages, but I think it still holds for the vast majority of stuff.

I'm on the other side of the equation as a developer on a large OSS project. So I'm often grateful to and frustrated by packagers in equal measure. Whether it's enduring endless bug reports and frustrated users for an issue which was fixed a year ago, or because we're stuck maintaining support for obsolete versions of dependencies. Special ire is reserved for packagers who think they know better than us and apply their own patches or build with their own 'optimisations' because the end user doesn't know they aren't getting a vanilla version - Debian packagers happen to be famously the worst offenders (SSH key incident, IceWeasel etc).

So don't take my comments personally, I happen to like a lot of packagers on both a personal and professional level, but as a collective whole ...
