The survival game 7 Days to Die finally works properly on Linux once again. It was broken back in March, so it's pleasing to finally see it sorted.
I tested it myself, and I needed to remove the config folder (.config/unity3d/The Fun Pimps) for the game or else I had some weird object error preventing me getting into a game to test it.
Not pleased by how long it took, but they have solved it now so that's good news for the fans of the game.
7 Days to Die is another zombie survival and crafting game that was funded on Kickstarter quite some time ago, and it has a long way to go before it's a polished product.

Well I can understand the frustration when a game breaks all the time.
But I have to say, I prefer them taking there time to fix it, rather then ignor it.
Or giving something half finished or fixed.
But I havent tryed it in a long time so I cant say if the port is ok or not,
last time I played it, the game ran smooth. But that was ages ago.

The game runs pretty fine on Linux, especially AMDs open source drivers.
Sure this bug sucked but the game is becoming pretty nice.
Like the new basic quests and the performance polishing. Future looks promising for this game.

I believe it was a Unity bug, so I'm willing to cut them slack over this one. And the devs (or at least one of them) has been pretty active on the forum thread discussing this error, which affects Mac users too apparently.
Nice to be able to play this again. Since Alpha 13, it's a LOT of fun. Worth youtubing a quick five minute intro video though, as it still features an initially steep learning curve.

Rolling back to Unity 4 fixed it though, briefly (they took the build down after a couple of days, sadly). So the undefined behaviour was probably a result of Unity 5, right? Which... well, that makes it a Unity bug, surely?
Ah, right, I think see what you mean. It's not a Unity "bug", but a Fun Pimps bug highlighted by the move to Unity 5?
