Feral Interactive are teasing our minds with a new clue for a Linux & Mac port to come. It's time to get your thinking caps on.

Here's their new clue in the Very Soon section:

"808 SB12S" is the clue.

As usual, I will leave it up to you lot who are way better than I am at decrypting Feral's teasers.

Feral sure do have quite a few games coming out this year for us, exciting. I just hope they continue to work on previous ports like XCOM 2 and Tomb Raider which aren't quite up to scratch. We are already behind on the recent XCOM 2 patch and DLC, so it's time for them to up their game. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

This is probably a very far fetched speculation, so grabb a tin foil hat :P.
But id's new engien used in Doom 4, id tech 6 uses openGL and vulkan.
Sooo maybe its doom 4.

Also MC hammer - lets get it started has 808 SB12S in its lyrics.
But Im sure there are other songs out there, and I dont see what MC Hammer, doom and mars have in common.
I know lyrics have been used before with Ferals hints.

I dont know if this is enough to prove anything, probably not, think I just made stuff even more confusing xD.
And vulkan are also supported in windows.

Quoting: KeyrockThat's a picture of Mars. DooM seems too obvious, also, it's a Bethesda game. Hmm...

Edit: 808... The only thing I can think of is the Roland TR-808, a famous drum machine from the 80s. What games have a character named Roland?

Roland is a a character in the Borderlands series
Borderlands takes place on a desert planet named Pandora

Borderlands 1?

It seems possible because Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel are already available on Linux and Mac but Aspyr handled the ports for those two.

I'd love it to be Tales from the Borderlands as I love the Borderlands setting but hate the Borderlands gameplay. Also, I've heard good things about Tales from the Borderlands. A lot of people have said it's Telltale's best series.

Borderlands 1 is already on Mac (by Feral), so nope.

Quoting: KeyrockMaybe it's Technomancer, the sequel to Mars: War Logs?

Combined with the TR-808 drum machine. I think we are onto something.

EDIT: because: Techno music.

It does look like something-something sound related, on their Facebook page they say:
QuoteNo matter, even though the Feral Radar is mixing up its signature sound the message remains the same

No, I asked the developer some days ago if they'll release the game for Linux and they told me that it's not planned but they are discussing it with their publisher.

Even though I don't think it will be Doom 4 because of Bethesda, it wouldn't be that unrealistic, Doom already runs on OpenGL and Vulkan version is, if I remember correctly, also almost ready.

I am not really fond of the new Doom gameplay, though if Bethesda decided to take a step towards Linux, then I will answer accordingly with my wallet.

808 SB12S could be a reference to MC Hammer lyrics and the image is obviously Mars. Since the new Doom is a Bethesda title it will never get ported. Thus the obvious connection is Hammer and Mars which could mean Red Faction: Guerrilla.

Focus Home Interactive have released a number of Linux games lately, so it's definitely not out of the question. But, again, I would expect Technomancer to be an in-house port, if it happens, especially if it uses the same engine as Bound by Flame, which I think it does.
