Feral Interactive are teasing our minds with a new clue for a Linux & Mac port to come. It's time to get your thinking caps on.

Here's their new clue in the Very Soon section:

"808 SB12S" is the clue.

As usual, I will leave it up to you lot who are way better than I am at decrypting Feral's teasers.

Feral sure do have quite a few games coming out this year for us, exciting. I just hope they continue to work on previous ports like XCOM 2 and Tomb Raider which aren't quite up to scratch. We are already behind on the recent XCOM 2 patch and DLC, so it's time for them to up their game. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

So Feral is capable of doing business with Bethesda. In that case Spacious Skies = Skyrim ?

I would love to play Skyrim natively on Linux. I played it all the way through using Wine, which worked surprisingly well save for a weird controller issue that happened occasionally.

Has Bethesda sworn a blood oath, never to publish anything on Linux? Even if it's something they haven't developed, which already has the technical groundwork for a good port? I mean, we're living in an age where we have friggin' ubisoft titles on Linux; so I wouldn't rule out DOOM from the start. (Especially since all the rave reviews it's been getting touched my nostalgia nerve ... I was never a big fan since it gave me motion sickness, but back in '93 a friend and I played the shareware levels of DOOM and Wolfenstein 3D to exhaustion.)

Volition now have a relation with Virtual Programming, so it would not make a lot of sense that Feral would do such a port. I think the link with Earth 808 / Victor von Doom. is a strong one. They are porting Doom. And because they just need to feed it to a compiler, they can put it in the "really soon" section immedeately.

Red Faction:Guerilla yes please...it used to work fine under wine back in the days but some update broke it :(

Doom (2016) would be nice also but i doubt that.

what remains? ..Mad Max can also match because the hint about Mars and the sand ...maybe?

I don’t think Volition had anything to do with the Linux ports; Saints Row was published by Deep Silver

Volition didn't do the work, but comments on the Steam forums indicate that people from Volition and Virtual Programming are in close contact with each other. Based on what I read there I also conclude that Volition and not the publishers own the rights to these games.

So we have reference to a song by MC Hammer = Warhammer.
Mars = The red planet = Warhammer 40k

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II confirmed.

I would be absolutely thrilled if it's Doom. Not because I care for the title (I don't), but seeing Bethesda supporting Linux would make me hop in circles like a bunny, as this would open up hopes to see Fallout and Skyrim ported as well. :D
