Feral Interactive are teasing our minds with a new clue for a Linux & Mac port to come. It's time to get your thinking caps on.

Here's their new clue in the Very Soon section:

"808 SB12S" is the clue.

As usual, I will leave it up to you lot who are way better than I am at decrypting Feral's teasers.

Feral sure do have quite a few games coming out this year for us, exciting. I just hope they continue to work on previous ports like XCOM 2 and Tomb Raider which aren't quite up to scratch. We are already behind on the recent XCOM 2 patch and DLC, so it's time for them to up their game. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Also, few people know this, but one of John Carmack's many talents is that he's a virtuoso trumpet player -- and his favorite instrument happens to be the 'System Blue 12S; or the SB12S'

So, discussion over, I believe?

When Vulkan was officially released back in April, Khronos group knew what Apple was doing with Metal and they create, at the same time, MetalVK (now called MoltenVK) which allows to run Vulkan applications directly over Metal.

https://moltengl.com/moltenvk/

So, with that "abstraction layer" (or whatever), a Vulkan -> Metal port should be trivial, even Doom.

...but Carmack's not involved in Doom 4 in any possible way.

Still, it looks like a good hint. You guys are slowly convincing me, I hope Feral won't disappoint!

I think you folks are over thinking this:

Mars - Roman God of War
808 SB12S - Lyric from MC Hammer

Warhammer - in one of it's incarnations.

Already stated earlier, and it's a reliable hint for sure.

The most obvious title should be Dawn if War II, but I wonder if we're not already too late in development process to tease it through their radar. Everybody knows it's coming, and it already has a Linux launcher, according to SteamDB.

It can't be Warhammer Total War as it's been officially confirmed long ago...

So what can it be?

And it's known to the select few, that this used to be American McGee's favorite motorbike model.

You gotta give it to Feral; they've managed to capture so many levels of id software lore with a single hint.
