Feral Interactive are teasing our minds with a new clue for a Linux & Mac port to come. It's time to get your thinking caps on.

Here's their new clue in the Very Soon section:

"808 SB12S" is the clue.

As usual, I will leave it up to you lot who are way better than I am at decrypting Feral's teasers.

Feral sure do have quite a few games coming out this year for us, exciting. I just hope they continue to work on previous ports like XCOM 2 and Tomb Raider which aren't quite up to scratch. We are already behind on the recent XCOM 2 patch and DLC, so it's time for them to up their game. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

MC Hammer....

Total War: Warhammer ?

but seeing Bethesda supporting Linux would make me hop in circles like a bunny

Ironic, since the new DOOM doesn't allow bunnyhopping.

... I'll see myself out, thank you.

Hello Gentelmen (I did not notice any Ladies here yet),

Had to finally register to this awesome website. Doom 2016 arguments are convincing me and my wallet as well. Wondering how will they treat vulkan implementation. If we could have also performance boost over.. well other platforms, that would be turning point and clear signal to other publishers and devs out there.

Keep my fingers crossed!

Everyone is so focused on the literal planet that we've forgotten to consider the possibility that it could mean God of War.

Mars = Roman god of War

your fav rapper and mine MC Hammer has already been mentioned...

I'm beginning to suspect a Total War game, perhaps one released on Steam quite recently, maybe even today...?

edit: I suppose there's nothing to suggest 'Total' in the clue... so I'm not ruling out a Dawn of War title

Well, Doom DO use Vulkan, so... Just sayin. A port at some stage is not insanely unlikely. Maybe unlikely it's done by Feral though.

Sega Bass Fishing, if you look closely at the 808 SB12S it spells out Bobs Bits who deal in fishing lures. ;)

I don't know. I'm just thinking on Doom right now ¿^^

I would die if Doom came to Linux. A bloody, violent, and beautiful throwback to some of my favorite games. This is almost as good as getting GTA 5. To hell with the endless stream of strategy games. I want action.

It just has to be Doom. It has to! Infernal hordes of hell, please please please make it happen!

Just for when reality starts hitting your face and disappointment starts kicking in hard, keep in mind that Project Brutality is still a thing and it's a quite wonderful thing indeed if you can just get an engine to run it properly.

I really hope that Mars = DOOM. I as want to play DOOM and have been fighting the urge to purchase it for Windows as I feel it is ripe for porting over to Linux and Mac OS.

GZDoom is running it just fine for me.

Don't bother. Their DRM implementation breaks it on Wine :(

Would be really surprised if it's DooM, even the classic id software's games that are packaged with dosbox are not available on SteamOS.

I guess it's a trolling attempt by Feral - to make us think it is DOOM.

*sigh* that's what I think too. DOOM (2016) on Linux is what I want (even though I would have to buy a new graphics card to play it) and what I would buy immediately.

There is a simple reason why this port is unlikely to be Doom (although it would be awesome if it was): the clue has an Apple logo. Apple does not build computers with a GPU powerful enough to run this game (same thing happened with the Occulus). Even if they did, OSX does not support OpenGL 4.5.

There's another reason: Bethesda

Mars fully shown = total war.
