Update: And now the news post has gone.
Not sure how we missed this, but Feral Interactive have officially confirmed F1 2015 is coming to Linux.
It was apparently posted just after the Tomb Raider system requirements were revealed going by their news dates, but it's possibly it was only recently made visible as it states the post was updated on the 5th of May.
We pretty much already knew this, but it's great to see official confirmation.

Shout out to the guys that correctly guessed in the other thread. Do they win a foot massage or something?

Perfect to me. I'm a big fan of Formula 1. I enjoyed a lot in Windows (I couldn't play with wine) with this kind of titles in past. I tried this game in Windows in free weekend and it is fun! It's not a surprise, but the confirmation is a good new.
Is there any E.T.A.?
:) :) :) :P

I have heard good things about F1 2015. I haven't played formula games for long time (sports games too), but they are insanely popular for good reasons.

They first leaked a development build of the linux version, and now they did the same with a news post announcing it for linux. Somehow that game really wants to be released very soon, but feral keeps grabbing his heel to stop the release lol

EDIT* sorry for the tread jack... but i'm SUPER excited! Not necessarily for this particular game... but it's certainly news that it DOES run on Vulkan!
So word on the streets is that Doom CAN and IS running on Vulkan!!! *itshappening.gif*!!!

Native shouldn't be that much of an issue to port, but seeing as it's Bethesda... Let's just say I'm not holding my breath.

Regardless if it's coming or not to Linux, I still want to see it succeeding and becoming preferable API over DirectX for games. It's still win for us, more game developers adopt Vulkan, the higher are chances of porting games to Linux.

But here's the thing, we can't really dismiss it like that anymore.
I mean think about it. If this was 2012 we'd be saying "Don't get excited, <insert game here> is not coming to Linux!"
In 2012, the very idea of Tomb Raider, Grid Autosport, F1 <year>, Alien Isolation, Saints Row, Dirt Showdown, etc.... coming to Linux would be "Don't get excited, it's not coming to Linux."
But look at it now, we have several big AAA titles, and frankly I'm quite pleased with how far gaming on linux (no pun intended) has come in such a short time!
Honestly, I'm not sure what to expect, will we see Doom on Linux? Maybe, but also maybe not. Either way I would not be so quick to dismiss the idea of it.

I get that beggars cannot be choosers but this game has user rating of 39% on Steam, and "recent" user rating of 50% (Steam overall average across all games ever is like 76%).
I am not blaming Feral for not choosing better games to port; I imagine they are left with what doesn't have restraining publishing contracts and with who accepts their offer for the port, but this game is garbage and it's sad that a lot of the few games that we get the luck to have a port of are of this kinda fame.
It would be bounds and miles better if Feral ported smaller, but actually good games. What comes to mind is Ori (admittedly quite likely impossible for now as it was published by Microsoft, then again, so was Dust: Elysian Tail and we have that ported already, so...), Duck Game.

Like Blizzard, Bethesda is one of the companies that will support Linux last.
Anyway, this is not the topic for this post ;)

I'll buy it because I love racing sims and it will be the first F1 sim on our platform. Also, if I'm not mistaken quite a few of the negative reviews are from 'subscribers' to the series, people who buy every new iteration of the game, who didn't like the changes from the prior year. Those reviews have to be taken with a grain of salt since they aren't reviewing the game, they're just comparing it to another game that they're already used to.

Which was not long after Zenimax bought them. Carmack had a slight fetish for linux 15-20 years ago, but by this time his daydreaming time was spent on rocket ships.
