I finally managed to get The Culling to play nicely and recorded a video of me butchering someone, wondering around and making an awesome shot with the bow on Linux.

Check out my great shot with the bow at 7 minutes!

I do actually enjoy the game, even with the annoying UI issues and my terrible mouse aim. Sadly it ended like most games do for me, with me being totally murdered.

If they do manage to fix up the UI becoming unresponsive and make it perform better, it will be a really great game. It's early days yet with it being in Early Access and the Linux version being especially fresh out the oven.

Have you tried it yet, what are your thoughts? Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

still havent seen those UI issues.. i have seen the delay between hovering over menu item and clicking on it.. like it doesnt activate sometimes right away..but thats nothing too mayor.

game has vmem issues though... it basically consumes most of my 4GB of memory even when textures are at medium.

bugreport about it:

otherwise.. really nice game and plays smooth 40-50 fps most of the time, with no hitching or frame jumping.
ofc higher would be nicer but its fine enough for me to enjoy

I just wanted to report back after trying some actual online matches, that I also notice very smooth gameplay, even though my performance is still very low.

It's interesting to me because usually if you're getting a maximum of about 25FPS you would expect it to go all over the place and experience stuttering, but I get none of that. It stays fairly steady right between 20-25FPS even in the middle of action which surprisingly makes the game playable still if you're patient enough for your eyes to adjust to the low framerate.

I'm using an NVidia GTX 760
