Jack Nicklaus Perfect Golf has just launched with full Linux support and it actually looks pretty good.

I find golf games to be incredibly boring myself, it's one of the few things I actually prefer to just go out with a few friends and play for real. I doubt everyone has a golf course within walking distance though, so like everything it will have plenty of fans.

About the game (From Steam)
Jack Nicklaus Perfect Golf is a next generation golf game from Perfect Parallel Studios an independent game developer and published by Perfect.Golf Inc.

High resolution visuals, highly accurate ball flight physics developed using state of the art launch monitors, Jack Nicklaus Perfect Golf is the best simulation of golf released to date.

Acclaimed golf course designer Jack Nicklaus—perhaps best known for his record 18 professional major championship victories in addition to his global portfolio of award-winning courses and host venues for the game’s most significant events - has teamed with Perfect Golf to bring you an all new Golf Game. Expect many of the great golf courses designed by Nicklaus to be released for Perfect Golf in the coming months as well as many designs that never made it to the real world

Now we are finally viable gaming platform :D

More serious, golfing in computer games has always been big for unknown reasons.

Never played for real and don't know one end of a golf bat from the other but always loved golf games on computers! All over this! :)

Two of my favorite games are Neo Turf Masters and Tiger Woods in Wii. Probbably, I will give it a chance if reviews are good.

I'm definitely interested, but I'm going to hold off for a few months as much of what I've read suggests this is a cake that needs to bake in the oven a bit longer.

I was interested in this game until someone on the Steam forums pointed out that a significant chunk of reviews for this game are from obvious shills (one game in their account, one review). As much as I love golf sims, I really can't support that kind of unscrupulous activity on the part of the developers.

I played already e few hours during early access, and its a very good game. possibly the best golf sim on PC right now. Its nice to play a few holes in order to relax. The only drawback: there is no career mode. So, right now, there is no long term motivation, but the basics are very solid. I hope they will publish a career mode later.....

It is a nice game, it looks beautiful. And, in only 1 day it has more positive critics and possibly orders that the so anticipated "Ashes of the singularity".

Well, after playing Cloudlands: VR Minigolf, I don't know how I could play any normal golf game on a computer again! Seriously awesome, damnit HTC, fix up the Linux support!

for me this is unplayable. bought it in early access as Linux supported golf game would be the best thing in life for me as i can't get to play real golf anymore as much as I liked, but FPS is low as hell for me in this one. at 10 - 15 FPS game is unplayable. I have a pretty decent laptop, most games run at good fps. i would have thought that my laptop couldn't run it but i tried it on Windows an it runs smoothly there. so am i the only one here?

I always did love Links back in the day (the original games - I never played the Microsoft versions), so I'll be picking this up as soon as I can...
