Good news zombie slaying fans, as it looks like both Dead Island Definitive Edition and Dead Island Riptide Definitive Edition are coming to SteamOS and Linux.

Recently they both added "linux" into the "oslist" on Steam (tracked by SteamDB, here and here).

We should take this with a pinch of salt as there hasn't been a formal announcement yet. I reached out to Deep Silver more than once about it, but they never replied to me. Their original announcements and trailer description also only stated Windows, but it looks like they had a change of plans somewhere recently.

Looks like May 31st could be a busy day. Both titles are developed by Techland and published by Deep Silver.

The games include all previously released DLC, along with improved graphics. You also get a discount if you own the originals which is sweet. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Just today I thought about Dead Island Riptide, and if it's ever coming to Linux ;)
Have both already, and Riptide is working with wine... but in this case... I'll have to buy both again \o/

Good news, even if I consider these games obsolete given that Dying Light exists.

I'm still waiting the trailer's version. It was so disappointing

I see "View PC info" under your guys' avatars. It looks like that survey system is coming along nicely.

I have Dead Island and Riptide, but perhaps they make a discount like Metro Redux if I buy it

I have Dead Island (vanilla game) in my library for over a year and did not even give it a try. Reason? The game was developed by Techland and they've created Dying Light as well. I didn't play Dying Light, but it is very popular and well received and I have an impression, that Dead Island cannot be as good as Dying Light. And it makes me think that this game is a 2nd category game :).
I guess 3 euro for all the DLC and improved graphic is a reasonable price. I just wonder will I ever play it anyway...
