Terraria is a pretty decent sandbox game with lots to discover and it's just got a bit bigger. This new update is quite a big one.

New stuff:
- Controller/Gamepad support
- Adventure maps have returned
- Logic gates
- Lots of new items
- Inventory sorting
- Lots more

See the full release post here.

I've only had a chance to put about 5 hours into the game myself, but I found it to be pretty awesome. The only thing I am not fond of is the way crafting works as there's no set category system for it. You end up needing to learn a lot of the recipes.

You can get Terraria on GOG (I've checked and GOG does have the latest version), Steam & Humble Store. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I have spent 300 hours with Terraria (according to Steam) and every time I play I head to the wiki.. with that much items you just can't remember everything (after a certain time you will know the crucial recipes). Additionally you can ask the guide what you can craft with item X.

Terraria is my personal favorite sandbox-building-crafting-nebulous-genre game! It has so much more personality and polish than the majority of the genre, and that pays off tremendously in the long run. I played it before I played Minecraft, and I still prefer Terraria even though comparing the two is, and always has been, apples to oranges.

Fsck me. After 12 hour coding marathon at work and 4 hours sleep, this is beautiful and horribly tempting at the same time.

No Terraria no, I dont want to spend another 1000 hours on you! Too good, nom.

I just noticed this morning there was an update for Terraria.
I play cooperative with my wife and two daughters and we LOVE Terraria.

So much to do, so many minions, bosses, ores and weapons to discover.
The crafting seems unlimited and there is always something new!

The very first NCP you spawn with will tell you what you can craft with any item.
Just click on him, then click crafting. When you inventory opens, put any item in the slot next to the crafting list and it will tell you what else you need to craft new stuff.

This Game is best played with friends on a 24/7 persistent server on a large world! Liam, you have to get food and drinks, some friends and one weekend of time! Don't wait, go! ^^
