Space is only going to get bigger with what Paradox has planned for future Stellaris updates. I am still playing it and still in love with this game.

They have outright stated they have expansions planned for the game, but they will spend May and June on bug fixes and free upgrades for the game.

First up, they just released a new hotfix and patch notes are here.

See their full post on it here.

The first update named "Clarke" is due towards the end of this month and will include:
- Fixes to the Ethic Divergence and Convergence issues. Currently, Pops tend to get more and more neutral (they lose Ethics, but rarely gain new ones.)
- The End of Combat Summary. This screen looks bad and also doesn’t tell you what you need to know in order to revise your ship designs, etc.
- Sector Management GUI: There are many issues with this, and we will try to get most of them fixed.
- Diplomacy GUI issues. This includes the Diplomatic Pop-Ups when other empires contact you, but also more and better looking Notifications, and more informative tooltips on wars, etc.
- AI improvements: Notably the Sector AI, but also plenty of other things. This kind of work is never "finished"...
- Myriads of bug fixes and smaller GUI improvements.
- Late game crises bugs. There were some nasty bugs in there, blocking certain subplots and various surprising developments.
- Remaining Performance Issues. We know about them; they might even be hotfixed before Clarke.
- Corvettes are too good.
They also include some mock-up screenshots of some of the improved UI sections.

After "Clarke" they are also planning "Heinlein", but they aren't promising specifics in this one, just what they hope to add in. Heinlein is probably more exciting as it should add in a bunch more mid-game content and more mechanics for fleet battles like formations.

Stellaris is already awesome, but these free updates will help flesh-out some parts of the game that really need it.

I would also like to see them implement some proper scaling options that doesn't force 4K users to use mods or a lower resolution.

Also, the amount of mods already available is quite amazing. You can even play as the Kerbals from Kerbal Space Program.

How about an Easy mode? There's even a mod for that too. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Good to see, Going on the steam stats it's rather popular too! Would be interesting to see the linux numbers of them.

Their linux version is a good solid one from my 25+ hours of play, Not had any perf issues/crashes nor freezes that others have had, though, only on a small map/star system atm.

Edit, Hey the PC info bit is back! showing GPU vendor too :D

Quoting: GuestI spent about 11 hours last Sunday playing this game.

And here I was scolding myself for playing 4 hours in one day. Now, when a family member asks, I'll just say, "Hey, at least I didn't pull a posmunk." :D

My last game was pretty heavy.

I spawned in a galaxy arm with birdmen on the right and a lot of expansion space on the left.

I thought I was in the perfect spot and I started expanding.

Sadly, unbeknown to me on the upper arm there was an militant isolationist empire who gently offered to cross the empty space, exterminate all my colonies and humiliate me.

And here I thought the Vogons were assholes XD

The game is full of good material for hilarious stories of failure that's for sure. Even more so when they do the update to add in more mid-game content.

Fantastic game... Though as it stands I feel they need to flesh it out more. Which it seems that they are already making plans to do so which is good. This year seems to be an amazing year for strategy titles (XCOM2, Stellaris, CIV VI, Total War: Warhammer, Hearts of Iron IV, etc.).

I have the same experience ^^. The first time pirates defeated me :D . And the second time an Isolationist Empire came with a 17K fleet against my 5K Fleet...

This hasn't happened to me. Seems really stable.
Any trouble with other games?

Game has been rock-solid stable for me, too. I've played about 20-hours total, and haven't had a single issue.
