RUNNING WITH RIFLES is easily one of those games where I can simply tell you just to buy it, as it's so much fun. They have just added Steam Workshop support and a big sale is going on.

Check out the video I did of it a few years ago:

As for the mod support, "Running with the Dead" is already a thing:
QuoteThis is an extensive overhaul mod that changes the game to a post apocalypse survival wasteland crawling with zombies and warring factions. Each faction offers a unique way of playing the game through unique changes to their health, speed, spawn rates, and armory!

Sounds like fun!

Sadly I couldn't get these mods to work. They either crash instantly after I start loading or after 15% of loading.

Hi Fenix2412,

I have to admit that we didn't test much the functionality of the mods under linux that much but we will have a closer look at it. Sorry for the inconveniences!

Seems this is the issue:
Quoterwr_game: /build/buildd/ogre-1.7.2/PlugIns/ParticleFX/src/OgreRingEmitter.cpp:112: void Ogre::RingEmitter::setInnerSizeX(Ogre::Real): Assertion `x > 0 && x < 1.0' failed.

Also, it seems the game will use the wrong monitor, and disable my primary monitor. Any chance of that getting sorted?

@JackMayol: A typical very simple reason is, linux is case sensitive in filesystems. You can either fix this in every single mod manually, or you force CaseSensitivity from the software itself so that the windows users will have the same problems. By this Modders typically fix those issues very fast.

So this actually looks quite interesting, considering the -50% it's really tempting to buy it. But many people criticize that the servers (probably just european servers?) are empty... is that true?

Pretty badass play, Liam. That episode where you took all of those guys down at the ladder was sweet. :)

The best part is at the end, when I'm driving a Jeep and I force someone to jump the rail into the water :D

Cracking good game it is.

Agree. RWR is such a fun game! It reminds me of Battlefield Bad Company 2 without the destructible environment though. If Modulaatio Games is ever going to make a second RWR game I hope it will have a destructible world. That would make the game even more fun!

Sadly, multiplayer seems to be Steam only now. But I guess since the majority of gamers use Steam anyway it's easier this way for the devs.

As you can see there are also US servers.

we had a lot of piracy which is to expect for a completely DRM-free game but the problem was that the pirates often caused chaos on the servers, like teamkilling en masse, etc. So the only way was to have a steamID check. Kinda sad for the legit players who want to play it outside of Steam but those are by far the minority, probably not even 0.5% of the playerbase.
