Shadwen the brand new action and stealth game from Frozenbyte is now officially available. I can't wait to give it a go.

I have requested review codes, so I will have to wait and see if Frozenbyte reply on that. Samsai has a copy so hopefully he will livestream it for you guys on Friday.
Update: Frozenbyte have given me a copy. Thoughts to come when I've put time into it.

It's nice to see Frozenbyte do something a bit different after Trine, so hopefully it's as good as it looks.

About the game (Official)
Shadwen is a stealth-action game where the only rule is to remain unseen. Stay hidden - or the ruthless guards will kill you on sight!

Shadwen, an assassin on a quest to kill the king, has a chance encounter with an orphaned girl, Lily. She follows Shadwen on her dangerous journey, but when the ruthless guards get too close, Shadwen must take action right in front of Lily's eyes.

Will Shadwen risk the girl's budding trust by resorting to violence, or try and find another way while keeping her real purpose concealed?

To kill or not to kill - that is the question.

You can grab Shadwen on GOG and Steam. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Bought!

The demo was really interesting and seemed to hold a lot of promise for a great game, it was also quite amazing how it brought down the prize to such a low level.

Wow, after seeing the trailer, this has become my very first D1 purchase :)

Only played for like 45' so far and while I like the game, I also have few issues I did not experience before. Most notably, the brightness slider in settings has no effect and since the game takes place in dark environments, I tend have problems to actually see what's around. Also noticed that after quitting the game, the desktop appears slightly broken (around edges of opened windows). Switching compositing on-and-off seems to help.

The actual gameplay appears fine, when I used the time-rewind key for the first time (not knowing about this feature beforehand) I almost freaked-out :D However, I'm putting this off for few days now to see if there are others with the brightness problems and if there's anything I can do about that.

It's also available from the Humble Store (DRM free + Steam key):

I have never played a stealth game before, but this one has me interested for being on Linux and featuring a girl player character for a change.

Totally looking forward to this title!

If anyone experienced that, the game is using obsolete libpng12 and fails to launch because of that. See more details and a workaround here.

Also, did anyone experience mouse lag in the menu and settings UI?

The game features interesting time mechanics. By default time stops as soon as you stop moving. You can toggle that behavior by assigning that switch to some button in the settings (I set it to Tab). By default though that toggle function is unassigned.

Does it run a bit better than Trine3? My old PC just isn't quite up to T3 and this seems like they used the same engine, assets etc. to make a "quick" game to recover a bit from the financial disaster that has been Trine3 according to some articles a while back..
