I recently covered (here) Solar Division and while I liked most of what it had to offer, the game was just too easy. The developers agreed with me and they have not only balanced some tower types, they have also introduced difficulty levels.

They have made it so that the towers that slow enemies down slow them down a bit more, but do less damage. This makes more sense, since their real purpose is to slow. They have also given some laser towers a bit of a buff.

I've tried some levels on the new Hard difficulty option, and they weren't kidding. It's certainly a lot more challenging and makes me appreciate the game quite a bit more.

I am much happier at suggesting strategy and tower defence fans check it out now. I still think they could do with a few more fancy effects, but maybe they will improve that over time too.
