We all like knowing how good a game is overall and having user reviews are nice, but review bombing has become a problem. Steam has made some changes to help.
Review bombing isn't the only problem, and sometimes it has been done for a good reason. Early Access games primarly can change heavily between releases and go the wrong way. PAYDAY 2 was a good example of this, a few updates ruined it for a lot of regular players, so the title got review bombed.
Steam is now showing an Overall and a Recent rating for reviews. I think that's a small, but fantastic change so you can see how people generally feel about a game right now.
The reviews showing on the PAYDAY 2 Steam store page were all negative even though the Overall rating was Positive. There's still a few bad reviews left, but you can now see that the Recent review rating is actually Mostly Positive once again.
Steam is also now showing recent helpful reviews by default, instead of old reviews voted highly. That way you can get a better look into how the game is right now.
They have also added in a disclosure checkbox to make it more prominent that you got the game for free. Hopefully this will make some reviews more honest.

Overall, I think these are some really great changes to improve such a useful system.

Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Quoting: maodzedunQuoting: BeamboomAh - if only the Steam client supported such plugins!
Unlikely - it would be a security risk, I imagine.
I don't see how that would make a difference. It's essentially just a web browser integrated in the Steam client too. The security must be on the server side either way.
