Interstellar Marines has been in development for a long time and their cash is running dry. They recently announced they are looking for a publisher or investor and they have created a video to showcase the game and make their needs known.

They are looking to get 1.7 million dollars to complete the game and exit early access, and allow console ports after. They claim they have sold 150,000 copies already in Steam Early Access.

Easily the best video I have ever seen for the game, which sadly shows off a ton of content not in the current game.

You can see the list of people the developer is in contact with, or will be trying to make contact with right here.

I do wish that the game finds a publisher or someone to invest in it as it does show a lot of promise.

Sadly though, being brutally honest, I think the lead of Zero Point Software lacks clear focus and vision for the game. This is my view after watching it try to progress for years (and being someone who purchased it myself).

It switched focus away from single-player to online play in all of the latest updates. With a tiny community, it was a bad decision and has only sped-up the games current situation. It was an especially bad decision as their new online mode "Wargames" (previously known as Hell Week) is time-limited, so you can only join at specific times.

The games performance is also really quite bad at times and they haven't really put in any graphical options to help people with it.

About the game (Official)
Interstellar Marines is inspired by movies such as Aliens, Starship Troopers and Final Fantasy; and games such as Half-Life, System Shock 2, and Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield. Interstellar Marines is all about evolving the FPS recipe with all the inspirations we've assimilated since the birth of the genre. Our goal is an evolutionary leap forward driven by our compulsive interest in science fiction, role-playing, military realism, and respect for first person immersion.

I brought the game and played it once or twice. Didn't really seem to be anyone online, but it probably doesn't help that I'm in Australia. I didn't expect that to suddenly change over time. A single-player campaign would have been awesome to keep me interested until more players were around.

Don't remember any performance issues, but it was a long time since I last looked at it.

I really hope they get funding, I like where he wants to take the game.

Has some nice ideas, but I did notice some performance issues in areas. The main issue I felt was the levels look pretty old tech, like old 2008 graphics in areas, with lower fps then you would expect.

I really don't know where all there money has been going for these past few years? its making good progress but not 150k sales progress...

A friend and I tried it out during a free weekend on Steam. At first we enjoyed it, but then we began to wonder . . . how is this Interstellar?

Of course that was over a year ago, so maybe it's different now. But at the time, there was no there there, y'know?

Still, I wish only well and the best of luck on their efforts.

I was always pretty meh about IM. Maybe it's the theme, as I feel like space marines have been done a few times, and usually they aren't the real focus cause they're not that interesting (e.g. the aliens in Aliens, the halo and aliens in Halo, hell and al- er, demons in Doom, etc.).

Thank you for writing the article. Also tweeted it out :). For some of the questions and posts in the article and comments, I'll try to answer as much as I can.

Riddick, all the money we've made from selling IM on Steam has gone directly back into developing the game. Things have been slow but we're still determined to make more progress and continue working on making the game great.

Boltronics, we have a small community. It isn't just you, usually it's during a few peak hours that people start playing. Hopefully it'll change once we're close to finishing and continuing the campaign.

Picoboom, I completely understand what you mean. We added a bit to the game since the free weekend but it was the Wargames mode that took some time to do that was the most significant. We also added a few more things since then but content-wise that was the largest.

HadBabits, there's going to be a lot more enemies for sure. While the enemy players and CTRs might not be everyone's cup of tea, there's going to be a lot more (Titan Walkers, Landsharks, Humans, and some other things out of. After all, we're definitely not alone ;) )

Thank you guys for supporting us as we continue to find a publisher but if you guys have any more questions or comments, I'll be here!

Awesome game and I have enjoyed what I have played so far. Not being a huge tactical shooter fan normally but this I really enjoyed. Spent a lot of time dying!

So much potential, it would be a shame to let it go to waste! Just watching and waiting now like many others I would say :)

I bought and played the game a while ago and liked it. Definitely, want to get back to it and now content/features will make it more likely.

All the best with your campaign and search for a publisher!
