Good news for FPS fans as Deep Silver have confirmed again that Homefront: The Revolution is still in the works for Linux.
From twitter:
@gamingonlinux @k4os77 @DeepSilverUK @DSDambuster A linux version is still in the works.

It's nice to see them keep up with the communication. While the message was short, it's better than the silence we get from many other developers.
They confirmed again back in April, so I hope they are making good progress. It is one I am really hoping to play sometime this year.
Are you looking forward to it?

Will they drop support at release like they did for Dead Island though?

hopefully they will have time to iron out all the bugs the game has before the Linux release.

As for Homefront, despite the poor reviews, I still want to play the game. Hopefully they improve performance before the port. I would hope for Vulkan, but that may be unlikely

Complain. Complain. Kvetch. Whinge. Complain . . .
--- Oh, SNAP! Deep Silver has made yet another AAA (or AA, if one prefers) title available to Linux Gamers? That's awesome news! (--- but wait, no. Mustn't I find something at fault about this game's release? Yes, I believe so. AH!)
"Oh. Gosh darn. This game, it is not to be released during the Steam sale. It is a thing that is not Fair. O woe! O woe! Cry I."
There. That's done.
Thanks, as always, for the update Liam. I thought it was good news, at any rate. I'm glad you shared it. :)

Hopefully it supports AMDGPU-Pro upon release (or better yet, Mesa with its current OpenGL 4.3 compatibility) and doesn't complain on start-up that you're not using an Nvidia card. That behaviour has to stop.
I vaguely recall that I enjoyed the first Homefront, so I expect I'll be picking this game up as well, so long as it's not broken on AMD cards.

Are there any games besides the Feral ports that do this? I'm relly curious because I'm likely to upgrade to a RX 480 in the next couple months.

To be honest, I haven't been keeping track. I generally just click past the warning and don't see a problem. The only game I have that's actually problematic right now is Dying Light - on Mesa due to a lack of OpenGL 4.4/4.5, and on AMDGPU-Pro because it runs slow as heck to the point of almost being unplayable.

We could use more FPS games on Linux so I am happy but hopefully they continue to patch it because I have not heard very good things about it so far.

Will they drop support at release like they did for Dead Island though?Dead Island Definitive IS supported by Techland.. Or at least, one Dev is answering:
[Weird Fatal Error [CFactory::CreateObject]](http://steamcommunity.com/app/383150/discussions/0/358415206098272551/)
And the problem was caused by a corrupted save game.

Complain. Complain. Kvetch. Whinge. Complain . . .In fairness, if a game has issues or lack of support, not only can you complain, I would argue that you SHOULD complain. Buying a crappy port and accepting all the issues with a smile can give developers and publishers the impression that we're so starved for games that we'll accept anything, no matter how poor and that they can just cut corners and slap together Linux versions and not bother with support. If you are going to sell a game on a platform you need to support it on said platform.

Mind you, I'm not saying this will necessarily happen with this game.

I don't like these kind of responses. It is basically just saying it hasn't been cancelled yet. I would much rather here it is being actively worked on. "In the works" can mean it hasn't actually been started but is still planned, maybe. I'm pretty sure Darksiders 1 and 2 are still in the works too. We'll probably never see them though.

Two questions. Is it coming to GOG, and will it also have no support after release?

I highly doubt it would come to GOG although if it did I would buy it instantly. Deep Silver hasn't brought a single Linux game to GOG so far and has given no reason to think they would change that.

They tried to release Metro, but it was rejected.

Almost missed that one. Hope they will live up to it. The game has very ... mixed reviews. But I really hope for a higly story driven shooter with possibilities as driving etc. like in FarCry. So I could really come to like this game.
