Deep Silver confirm Homefront: The Revolution is still in the works for Linux

To be honest, I haven't been keeping track. I generally just click past the warning and don't see a problem. The only game I have that's actually problematic right now is Dying Light - on Mesa due to a lack of OpenGL 4.4/4.5, and on AMDGPU-Pro because it runs slow as heck to the point of almost being unplayable.

We could use more FPS games on Linux so I am happy but hopefully they continue to patch it because I have not heard very good things about it so far.

In fairness, if a game has issues or lack of support, not only can you complain, I would argue that you SHOULD complain. Buying a crappy port and accepting all the issues with a smile can give developers and publishers the impression that we're so starved for games that we'll accept anything, no matter how poor and that they can just cut corners and slap together Linux versions and not bother with support. If you are going to sell a game on a platform you need to support it on said platform.

Mind you, I'm not saying this will necessarily happen with this game.

I don't like these kind of responses. It is basically just saying it hasn't been cancelled yet. I would much rather here it is being actively worked on. "In the works" can mean it hasn't actually been started but is still planned, maybe. I'm pretty sure Darksiders 1 and 2 are still in the works too. We'll probably never see them though.

Two questions. Is it coming to GOG, and will it also have no support after release?

I highly doubt it would come to GOG although if it did I would buy it instantly. Deep Silver hasn't brought a single Linux game to GOG so far and has given no reason to think they would change that.

They tried to release Metro, but it was rejected.

Almost missed that one. Hope they will live up to it. The game has very ... mixed reviews. But I really hope for a higly story driven shooter with possibilities as driving etc. like in FarCry. So I could really come to like this game.
