The developers of FORCED SHOWDOWN have emailed in to let us know that the deck building action twin-stick game is now available on Linux.

They have even sent in a key, so you can expect some thoughts on it soon.

They did an announcement on Steam, which notes gamepads may be a little iffy right now:
QuoteContestants,

Today I have a treat for all the potential fans of my show who haven’t been able to participate yet:
FORCED SHOWDOWN is now available on Mac and Linux.
Hopefully this will help a lot more contestants join the slaugh- erm, fun and games!

This was made on update 44, so there are no changes from the PC version, except fixes for the platforms.

I should mention that controller support on the two new platforms is a little finicky, but I’ll be working to improve it constantly, and I would very much like your feedback on the forums!

-Stay entertaining
C-SAR

Kinda ironic isn't it? Linux is actually more personal than Windows or Mac.

The understated truth. And Avehicle, fill out your PC information. The only thing you have listed right now is Mint.

I'm skeptical about the cards concept, even though I loved FORCED :/
Does someone have feedback on this (just be aware that I am not fond of card games, usually) ?

its not a card game..
you just pick up some cards before the match to give you the bonuses you chose. ofc every card consumes mana and you are limited on that.
once you beat boss and start new arenas, you can draw new cards and throw some of the bad ones you got, out.

thats pretty much all there is to do with cards. its pretty much like buffs you can choose from

That's a plus in my book. I almost never play multiplayer, so I'm always happy when a developer chooses to focus on the solo experience.

No Linux version on GoG at the moment :(. Hopefully it will be coming later, Gog are usually slower with the Linux port then steam.

the original Forced was ok, but didn't really care for it much. But this game on the other hand has had me hooked. I guess it's the card game dynamic that really makes the whole game more interesting. i've been playing since the release non-stop. one of the most surprising aspects is there's no micro transaction for the cards.

It does have a "multiplayer" aspect to it, which is the season play, which is a type of ranked play.
every few hours it has 3 different dailies to compete with other players on the same battles. to see who can get the highest score overall.
You get a boat load of gold if you go pretty far, which you can use to get more cards with.
I actually got rank 2 on one of them so far. Haven't participated in to many as I'm still getting cards and the mechanics down of certain cards. the quests are the main thing to complete which gives you the other companions and health bonuses for you and your companions. plus the extra gold and various boon unlocks are nice.

it's a really interesting card/strategy/action hybrid game.
