I was wondering if GOG would ever do something like this and it's really cool to see them finally dip their toes in it. For a limited time using GOG Connect a few Steam games can be redeemed on GOG for fully DRM free builds.

There are 12 Steam games that support Linux in the list right now (I don't know why GOG forces upper case for names):
- BIT.TRIP RUNNER
- BRAID
- BREACH & CLEAR
- BREACH & CLEAR: DEADLINE
- BROKEN SWORD: DIRECTOR'S CUT
- FTL: ADVANCED EDITION
- PROJECT ZOMBOID
- SHADOWRUN RETURNS
- TO THE MOON
- TRINE ENCHANTED EDITION
- VVVVVV
- XENONAUTS

Head over to connect.gog.com to check out the full list.

While GOG Connect will stick around, the games available will come and go. These are limited-time offers made possible by participating developers and publishers.

They also put a bunch of games on sale, check them out on our Sales Page. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

For me is not working...
I guess they have problems with large steam Libraries... (around 5k games)

"Your accounts are being connected. Due to exceedingly high demand this may take up to several days, please check back later. Thank you for your patience."

I guess they didn't expect it to be that popular!

Nice idea but not really that interesting -- at least for me -- given the limited number and rather simple games. Bring on some AAA titles and/or games that are not yet available for Linux on GOG.com and we may talk again.
There was a similar program for boxed copies of games on GOG; it started with 5 or 6 titles -- and stayed there. Hopefully this one will grow in time.

The trouble is, gog doesn't have linux versions of the games that I'm interested in, of which the linux versions I already own on steam. (e.g. the Metro series)

Also, there's Witcher 1, but no Witcher 2 or 3? That's a bit odd.

Also, not sure why they didn't include it, but if you have Witcher 1 or Witcher 2 on Steam, you can get them on GOG any time using this page:

https://www.gog.com/witcher/backup

Also, there's Witcher 1, but no Witcher 2 or 3? That's a bit odd.

See above for the Witcher 2. TW3 is odd, yes.

Been trying all day but keep getting "whoops something went wrong". I will keep trying. Just a couple games at the moment but hopefully more down the road. Awesome idea.

Same here
"OOPS, SOMETHING WENT WRONG.

Please try again."

Thanks a lot for the link; I had no idea.

Still waiting to connect, by the way. Apart from TW1 (haha!) I have just one eligible game (VVVVVV), but I still get the 'oops, something went wrong' error.

I tried all day at work (bouncing off my internet server as a proxy using sshuttle) and could never get it to work.. I went home and logged in directly to gog and it just came up and said it had connected and showed all my games that it had found for the offer. So, I don't know if the proxy was an issue, but just throwing it out there in case anyone else has a similar setup..

For me it worked out of the box (Poland, Ubuntu 16.04, Firefox). Trine, Shadowrun Returns, Saints Row 2 apeared in the library. Saints Row 2 is from the bundle, so it means that this is not a problem.

GOG surely have a lot of potential but as of today, linux and multi-player users on GOG are second-zone citizens.

Blame developers for missing Linux versions on GOG, especially ones like AOW III. They literally said they don't want to bother updating another version, so it's them who treat GOG users as second class citizens.
